Ok, all you painting gurus, this is your chance to chime in on the good or bad before I jump into the painting mod pool on some of my black plastic underhood bits. And pics of past successes and failures are always welcomed.

MC204, Purple Anodized, of course.
Now, if I was just painting over chrome, I know that I would first use the Dupli-Color Metalcast Metallic Ground Coat, MC100.
And, I know that if I was just painting plastic with a non-Metalcast product, I would first use the Dupli-Color Adhesion Promoter, CP199.
My question is that for painting plastics, like the strut covers or the two BatWing radiator covers, should I use all three products something like this?

- Scuff and sand the surface.
- Tack cloth off the debris.

- Wait 2-3 minutes
- Coat #2 - light
- Wait 2-3 minutes
- Coat #3 - light
- Wait 2-3 minutes, but not more than 10 minutes
- MC100 Metalcast Ground Coat
- Coat #1 - light
- Wait 10 minutes
- Coat #2 - light
- Wait 10 minutes
- Coat #3 - light
- Wait 10 minutes
- Info - Dries to touch in 30 minutes
- Info - Dry enough to handle in 60 minutes
- MC204 Metalcast Purple Anodized
- Coat #1 - light
- Wait 10 minutes
- Coat #2 - light
- Wait 10 minutes
- Coat #3 - medium
- Info - Dries to touch in 60 minutes
- Info - Dry enough to handle in 180 minutes (3 hours)
- Info - For more coats past 60 minutes, wait 7 days for paint to cure first.
- DA1692 Acrylic Enamel Crystal Clear Coat
- Info - Apply all clear coats within one hour of color coat
- Coat #1 - light
- Wait 10 minutes
- Coat #2 - light
- Wait 10 minutes
- Coat #3 - medium
- Info - Dries to touch in 60 minutes
- Info - Dry enough to handle in 180 minutes (3 hours)
- Info - For more coats past 60 minutes, waits 7 days for paint to cure first.
