Wish Dodge Would've done Different

We LOVE our cars - that's why we're here. BUT, after poring over them for countless hours, what do you wish Dodge would've done different?

IMHO, Here are mine:

* Ipod Integration - had no idea how important this was to me, except when I didn't have it. Sirius is great, it gets me off my bum and makes me listen to new music, but even after I buy a new song it's a pain in the ass to listen to it in my car! All those wasted CDs!

* They should have kept the backend of the original concept:

Or at least some derivation of it. I've seen other people mention it on here too, the backend of the charger could be a little meaner.

What are yours?

i think its back now is nice, but if they put the one in the concept version, that will be much better, but they have to seperate the exhausts.

I completely agree with the iPod thing.
Who the heck needs a cassette player?
I didn't know that they still put them in cars!
My only other gripe would be with the hard plastics. They look and feel kind of cheap for a $50,000 car (Cdn.)

If you think the plastics in the Charger are bad, don't test drive a Ford Fusion or Five Hundred! They have the worst plastics in the world.

Deano

p.s. I agree about the IPod

The back end of the original concept looks a bit like the new Challenger..

I agree the most about the interior. The dash and door pieces looks like something off a geo or something. I think they could of spent another $800 and did something better. Other than that, I love my car.

Yeah, I have one of those, but still get interference. With an integration kit, the sound quality would be better.

I also wish that they would have put memory seats in. It sucks going to the car wash or to get service and they move the seat. It takes me forever to get it just right.

Better Gas mileage........

What's the deal? I have a 5.7L in my Vette and with all the mods that it has it STILL gets' better then this thing.
I'm going to fill up the Charger for the first time today 277 miles to a tank? WTF? My buddie's 400hp GTO get's 28mpg and that's without having to drop to 4 cyl..

Ok, that's my only ***** about these cars.

I know they have to make money, but did they really have to make Daytona and SRT owners go out and buy their "special" floor mats? If you're paying the cash for a Daytona or SRT 8, the least they could do is throw in the appropriate floor mat! :smoke:

Standard stereo controls (etc) on the stearing wheel. GM does it on most of there full sized cars. I mean, for the price of an R/T, it would have been nice to get the "computer info system" included.

auto dim rear view mirror.

Memory seats.

Random play for all 6 disks on the CD changer, not one at a time.

All wheel drive.

I can not believe they do not come with the auto dim rear view mirror.

Could care less about memory seats no one else drives mine- the kid at the car wash ARE YOU KIDDING ME! NOT!

Ipod doesnt matter either - 6 discs loaded with MP3s are more than enough at a time

Biggest gripe - Open up the software for aftermarket, or get on the ball and offer a custom tuner! :ninja:

Oh AWD is on the '07 - so that one is taken care of.

1. Manual Transmission option for V8 (it's a crime that this isn't available)
2. Beefier-feeling door handles (feels cheap, like I'm grabbing at a potato chip)
3. Interiors should have more of a retro feel. More painted fiberglass or plastic (as is around the dash of Daytonas) instead of patterned plastic. I also think that the interiors should be nicer for SE, SXT, RT and SRT and not available as options for the lower-grade cars.
4. Heated sunglass holder
5. Instrument Icons in panel should all match (in middle they are fairly modern and elegant, but left turn signal and high beam icons look "80's".
6. Speedometer should read upside down, (think "smile" instead of a frown). This way you can actually SEE what speed you're going between 20 and 120mph since most of the numbers are now at the BOTTOM of the speedometer gauge.
7. mp3 auxiliary jacks on all stereos (I think most people prefer to use their actual iPod than to use some sub-standard "integration".)

Picky, maybe, but it would really help with functionality.

1.Touch screen on GPS
2. As mentioned, aux input jack. I like listening to audio books from my pda on long trips... ear buds get uncomfortable after 600 mi...
3. True defeat from factory for HAL.

There is a ton of stuff i would change if i was the guy at the drawing board. but i love what the car is. I have 100x less complaints about this car then any other i have driven recently.

my friends girlfriend was the first person to drive my car besides me, and now my friend got a new loaded VW and all she said was "its not even close to phils charger, this thing sucks." man, i am never gonna hear the end of this one.
