My SP has the standard 9” wheels and I understand these will accommodate 275/40ZR20 tires which I‘d probably get when the time comes.
Is it worth spending about $1,000 for a set of 9.5” wheels? Is the car going to handle better because the wheel offset positions them a bit further out? Will the car ride better because the sidewalls might flex a bit differently?
I don’t have an issue with the way the SP wheels look & wouldn't spend the money just for looks. But I might if it optimizes the fitment of the 275 series tires for better all around performance.
From reading other threads It appears the 275 tires on the stock 9" wheels come real close to front suspension parts due to the wheel offset. I don't know if this would actually become a problem depending on tire brand or tread width.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks
