I loved it, so did my family. We're originally from Detroit, we left because it was getting so bad there...The commercial went straight to the bone.

The Fiat commercial was awesome..

I actually liked it more than eminems commercial last year. They really hit the point when he said "when we do the world will hear the roars of our engines".

:') This commercial.... it was amazing. The thing about Chrysler commercials is they don't directly advertise their vehicles, they are reppin' all of Detroit (Ford and GM included).

I want those outside of Detroit to see these commercials, because they really don't know what this city is about. Most comments about this commercial on youtube sicken me to the stomach...

nonetheless, Chrysler advertising does it once again, best in the business world IMO. Go Detroit and Go Mopar!! :rocker:

That's what advertising is all about...public response to the spot. If the reaction isn't positive, then the spot failed. I learned this back in graphic arts/advertising design school at UD and it is absolutely correct.

Chrysler is in the business of selling cars...not selling Detroit.

Fuzzy feel-good that doesn't sell cars is a waste of advertising dollars. Show the product, trigger emotion FOR the product, and sell the units. Simple. ;)

Otherwise, it's a couple million dollars spent to make you feel better about your city and does nothing for car sales. A complete waste of money.

First of all.... The Fiat commercial. Va Va Va Voom-de-ay! The Abarth 500 is on my short list for replacements for Baby when she gets paid off anyway, but wow that's one hot ad.

I love Clint Eastwood's ad. His and Eminem's "Imported from Detroit" ad last year were really cool. American cars really get a bad rap and they deserve a break. Anyone who paid close attention to Toyota-gate should have caught on.

America needs to prove to herself that we can manufacture quality products at reasonable prices compared to the Japanese. America needs to get back to it's manufacturing roots and away from a service economy in order to survive.

and

well i really like the abarth a 200 hp car weighing in at around 2000 lb. makes the power to weight ratio pretty amazing. equal to an srt lb for lb. car has been reviewed by top gear and is pretty amazing car for the money.although it would be a pretty interesting choice to make an srt dart or abarth ? also notice the commercial with the baby kicking the football all the cars in the commercial where chrysler cars.

I didn't see it, but the Ferris Bueller's Day Off commercial was a blast from the past. One of my favorite movies

I wanna give Clint a Luden's. Sounds like he's been gargling nails.

He's 81 and looks and sounds like he could still kick some a$$. He doesn't need a ludens. :D I also wanted to run out and buy another mopar after that commercial.

You leave Squint alone, he sounded like a man like him should sound:) I loved the spot. See some folks are trying to make political points with it, but me, I dont see it that way. Even though I know what sort of shape Detroit is in, (couldn't muster enough city council members to discuss/vote on how to handle the impending imposition of a state appointed city manager) as a city, I have hopes it can do whats needed and get back on track.

But the overall description of this moment in time being the countries halftime, I think that resonates with almost everybody. Liberal American, Conservative American, and every political stripe in between, we all recognize that this is the time to either "man up" as a nation and do the hard things, or accept that we really are a nation in decline. I know every nation that has been a dominant force globally in the past wishes we would go the way they did, if for no other reason than to let them think their decline was inevitable.

Me, I dont think it has to be that way.

Having worked on the spot it's very rewarding to see the replies here and
especially to see it not get politicized. It was the hardest yet most fun and
rewarding commercial I've ever worked on. Clint was incredible.

whats wrong with a commercial that puts america not chrysler first ? if in the process you feel patriotic enough and go buy a chrysler product even better :) i say great job.its nice to see good things being said and done about the usa not always the gloomy end of the world crap.

I liked the commercial, but did'nt see any chargers...

I really like the commercial. Made me feel proud to be an American. 'Ol Clint has a way of making you want to tough it out. It also made me feel good about coming back to Chrysler after a mistepping into Hyundai.

To DDaddys point, the only car ads I recall from Super Bowl Sunday, today are: the Kia Optima and the Fiat Abarth commercials. They know how to reach there audience.

Not to say Clints spot wasn't amazing, but.....maybe they will sell a lot of 300's.
