A/C Blend door / Actuator issue - super confused

I made a post a few weeks ago regarding what has to either be a messed up A/C actuator or blend door in my 07 charger with dual climate control and after much research I am still super confused.

Recap of what the car was doing:

For a month or so, there would be a rapid clicking / knocking sound in the dash anytime I would adjust either temp knob on the dual climate control from its current position. This sound would last for 4-7 seconds and go away, but the Air would work fine. If I just left it in whatever setting it was on next time i started the car and never touched it, no sound.

As of a few weeks ago:

No more knocking sound at all when I adjust the temp, and the drivers side temp knob does not change anything but the passenger side adjusts accordingly with the knob. Drivers side blows very warm and weaker then the passenger side, which blows correctly to the temp its set on and harder. The driver side will not adjust with the temp control no matter what setting its on, while the passenger side works perfect. The rear A/C vents seem to be blowing the same temp the drivers side does, which varies from warm to very warm.

I tried the process I read about where the ignition is turned to on, A/C off. depress / hold defrost button, turn the Air to high. My defrost light never blinks no matter what, but the air does go through a short series of very faint sounds like its doing something. For the first few minutes after doing this, the drivers side air will blow slightly cooler then before (but not cold) and gradually get warmer as a I drive ultimately getting warm again within 10 minutes, while the passenger side stays consistent on whatever I have the temp dial set to.

Am I doing the "re-cal process" wrong since I never get the blinking defrost light? On my dual climate control, I have the far right knob set to the dash vent only setting (all the way to the right, not the auto setting), and I am turning the far left knob (A/C power level) all the way to the right from off to high, while depressing the defrost button in the center.

I dont have much money to blow right now so I have to try to self diagnose this. Ultimately I would like to drop the car off at a place, pick it up working and be done with it but funds do not allow. How many actuators will I need to order if the entire left side of the car plus the rear blows the warm temp? Are all the actuators the same size / shape or are there different ones for front / back / left / etc? Will there be anything on the current actuator when I pull it out that will be a dead give away on if its the actuator that is the issue or the blend door itself?

Sorry for the big post, just trying to get this taken care of asap as I am going to be selling the car

I did contort myself under there yesterday. I found two of them. One I needed to remove the plate (three screws) that's between the actuator itself and the HVAC box in order to access the two screws that hold the actuator to that plate (wire harnesses and other things attached are in the way). Below that actuator is another one which is just held by two screws holding it and they are accessible. So this is why I had some confusion when reading the FSM which stated simply remove three screws holding actuator. I was trying to find three screws, when it's actually held by two screws. The plate between it and the box is held by three and the bottom by two.

I called the dealership again today, and they told me my car should have a total of three, but can't tell by diagram where they are. Not sure what third one does. Single zone climate control. I know one would be for temperature and one for controlling where air flow is directed, but what would third be for? And I didn't see a third one, but then it's hard to see around in there. I'm laying on my back, with my lower back on the door jamb, and my legs hanging out door, and my head resting on floorboard looking up. Going to try and find third one on my next day off.

Just trying to help anyone who is going to be doing this soon. I'll watch the video (thanks). Don't know if it's different for the next gen ('11 and up).

There are 3 total actuator motors for the single zone climate control. The first one is the 'blend door' actuator that controls flow for heat and AC. The second one is the 'mode door' actuator that directs the airflow through the various channels (defrost, floor, vent, etc.). The third one is the 'recirculation door' actuator that switches between outside air flow and inside recirculation air flow.

I'm sorry if I come across thick, lol, but I'm still not sure if this diagram refers to single zone, dual zone, or both. I hope this will be my last question. Are all three actuators on single zone on driver's side? Or, is one on passenger side by blower, or is that just with dual zone? I'm replacing all three of mine now while I'm at it. Again, sorry if I'm just being thick.

On the single zone (MTC) there are two doors on the diver's side (blend door [3] and mode door [7]) and one on the passenger side (recirculation door [2]). The diagram is for the dual zone (ATC) and shows the additional blend door [3] on the passenger side.

I did finally get all three done on my day off Thursday. The one by blower motor was so simple. Ten minutes and I was done with that one. The other two took me hours and aggravation! But I'm glad I did all three now even though just one was messing up. I figured it was just a matter of a short time before the others did too. Now I could do the job in probably less than half the time. The first time is a not so fun learning experience.

Thanks all!

One side hot one cold

I have a 2008 SXT single zone AC. I have cold air coming out of the drivers vents and hot air coming out of the passenger vents. Never seen this before but I think it is probably the actuator on the passenger side behind the glove box. Another problem it has is when the car is stopped it gets hot but then cools when I start moving. When I hear the fans kick on due to temp the air cools again. Anyone know which relay controls the fans when you turn on the AC.

Anyone know about either of these issues. I have searched and found nothing mentioning either issue but the one side working and one not I am positive has been seen before. Thanks in advance.

This video should help anyone who has this problem

After reading this entire post, which did help, I found this U-tube video which was the most helpful on the 06 series charger with dual climate zones. Thank you to all. A regular guy, I replaced this in under two hours with the help of this video I found by googling 2006 Dodge Charger Blend Door Actuator. I would have posted the link but this site wont let me.

Ummmm... ok so I was taking the heater core out from under the driver side and I removed the actuator... along with the thing it is mounted on... in doing so the little arms that move along with the wheel behind the actuator went everywhere. I can get the front 2 arms in for the most part but cant figure out the rear one... does anyone know how to put them back in? I will sit here and bug with it but i could possibly be missing a piece...
