Oil Alarm? I didn't think these cars had any oil change reminder light. Are you sure it's not a oil pressure light?

Turn the key to accessory push the gas pedal to the floor 3x, turn car off, turn car on and done... At least that's how you turn it off on my 2008.....Good Luck and hope this helps...

 

One correction: Turn car to ON, but do not start; then depress the gas pedal fully 3x in 10 seconds or less and turn car off.

I don't think they stopped it...even my 2011 Durango has an oil reminder.

 

Perhaps this is only a V8/EVIC cluster thing only. Standard V6 clusters don't have them I think past '08/'09.

My 2008 V6 did.... I think it started in mid 2008 though.

 

if you have a nav u can turn it off completely in the settings

What does this oil change light look like? Is it a picture of an engine?

Or does it actually say "change oil" in the odometer?

 

I don't think 2006 V6 cars had the oil change indicator....

I know I don't have one... so I'm curious as to what this guy was talking about.

 

I didn't say it was an oil change indicator. I said my oil light comes on and I just had my oil changed, and the level is good.

 

Then it's either a bad sending unit, oil pump or seriously clogged oil passages.

Has the oil been changed as per maintenance recommendations?
