I am new here, so if I have placed this question in the wrong location, my apology.

I cannot find the answer to this question anywhere, or it's alluded me at least. I have a 2023 Charger with WiFi. My question is, is the WiFi connection always on even when the vehicle is shut off? Reason being is that I have a Dash Cam that connects to the "cloud" via WiFi, and I would like it to be connected when the car is parked and off. (If not, I'll have to resort to my portable hotspot.) Can anyone answer this or point me in the right direction for an answer?

Thanks,
Steve

Sorry I don't have an answer, but this sounds really trivial to figure out.

Connect your phone, laptop, or tablet then shut the car off. Still connected? There's your answer. Check again in a few hours to make sure it's not a "stays on 10 minutes after shutdown".

Alternatively, since you say you already have the car and have the camera... maybe look to see if there's footage from the middle of the night. If it only records when there's motion, look for a time when you've left the car somewhere busy, like a parking lot.

It does not work once the car is shut off as there is a power down point, in the settings under key options you can set the key off point to maximum of 10 mins. But after that wifi will cut out. It would be a nice feature to have but I don’t think there is any override to it. I think it’s stupid that flagship cams don’t have it built in, thus making you buy a hotspot just to remote in or get impact notifications. I have the u1000 thinkware and it’s the same cloud based crap

Thanks. Fortunately, I do have a mobile hotspot that I used in my previous vehicle and I'll use it here as well. I have a Blackvue DR970X-2CH-LTE which has it's own built-in WiFi, but the connection is questionable at best, so I use a hotspot. If I could get the built-in WiFi to stabilize, I'd use that. (Just another project to work on.) I do have a dual battery back that the camera will draw power from when the vehicle is off, and that is a plus.

Thanks much for the response.
