Hey I've got a noob question. I see a lot of mods to increase horsepower but has anyone tried getting rid of some weight on their Charger? I have no idea if this is really that possible or worth the effort but I'm interested to know.

You can get rid of weight, but you would probably have to take it to a performance shop that does Weight reducting on cars ( rare to find ).

I know you can take supports out of most cars but never heard/know of anyone doing that to the new charger.

I have aslo been thinking about this to loosen up on the weight of my car for better 1/4 times.

People talk about how heavy these cars are but the stats I saw on a 1968 Charger R/T had a curb weight of 3970 pounds. Then again, weight seems to be the main factor in the Mustang GT's being a bit faster with their 300hp engine.

The resonators are supposed to be pretty heavy, aren't they? I can't remember if someone said they were 25lbs each or 40lbs each...both numbers are floating in my head from several months ago.

IMO, these arent the type of mods that I would want to do on a Charger, I mean..Removing the backseat?... The Charger was created with a mixture of class and speed, nothing should be stripped from it. You want a car thats "reduced weight" ready, go get a Honda.

Or an EVO or STI. They're as fast as an SRT-8 stock, and with a few mods get really fast!
