What the heck is up with these people who thought these commercials would be cool!!!

Do they honestly think it is better to have a car that says "NOTHING"???? Why the heck would an UN-INSPIRED car be desirable??? That's like looking at a bare wall and saying, "Now, that's BEAUTIFUL!!"

["Growl] And I especially hate the commercial where the Volkswagon driver (with a girl in the car) honks his horn at the guy at the red light. He sees the guy get out of his car and go up to the wrong car. I mean, even if this Volkwagen driver was a total wimp, he could have at least waited around to make sure nothing happened to this INNOCENT guy. Especially, since he started it all. Freak'n coward. I had a friend who got into a fight with a couple of guys because some perv touched one of their girlfriend's @$$es at a bar. My friend shouldn't have been beaten up because some perv wanted to cop a feel. But, Volkswagen thinks it's OK to put someone else in jeopardy, then leave.

The people at Volkswagon need an @$$ whooping. Maybe I should go threaten to beat up the first person I see driving a Jetta. Then when they ask why, I'll say it's because of what they did the other day. I bet they'll probably start apologizing.

I know, I know, "Dude, calm dooowwwwwnnnn!"

doood.. they have no money, probably no wang, and no future to look forward to, the corp is pure inspired gen by these commercials, they are convincing these half-wits that by buying that pos they are acutually buying something worthly of their lives.

Its an awsome marketing setup!

Oh. and for your buddy.. tell him to be more like me, I dont care if you have me outnumbered 5 to 1, im going to make you pay for every last inch:)

The VW drivers are pissing me off more than the retarded comercials. Had some idiot in a NEW Jetta stop in the middle of the road to make a left turn, completely blocking traffic when there is a dedicated LEFT TURN LANE.

All though, its not all bad, when I was refueling the other day, some guy with a newer Jette TDI pulled up at the pump next to me and put $45 worth of gas into his diesel Jetta...

He's actually Swedish. My wife is Swedish and we've seen a lot of his work now and again. As far as US-based movies, among others he was the whacko bad guy in the movie Fargo, and is currently one of the characters in the TV action/drama Prison Break.

He also played Satan in the movie Constantine.

Around my neck of the woods, I think those aggressive VW ads have gotten too many youngsters thinking they are race car drivers. For now, they locally own the title of most likely to do something REALLY stupid within 5 seconds of my spotting them. I don't believe it's necessarily the choice of car itself, of course... it's the advertising that gets to them and builds that image of a VW driver being the best performance driver out there. Unfortunately the young impressionable ones will then put that to the test on crowded public roads.

With the exception of the Magnum R/T, auto commercials rarely interest me but I am lately paying more and more attention to the nature of the commercials in order to determine what will be the next batch of overly-aggressive drivers on the road.

Interesting... that must have been an interesting performance!

Personally, I've enjoyed his acting since I saw him portray a popular Swedish James-Bond-like character in one of the string of movies (the character is called Hamilton). When I then saw him in Fargo, I was blown away at how he could deliver such varied roles. Very versatile, meets my interpretation of the true definition of an actor.

It was more of a short cameo, he comes out in the last 10 minutes of the movie and has about 14 lines. But its still good acting and with his accent, it gives a whole different twist to the evilness he's supposed to portray.

Good point. Like the ones where they're on a "test drive", and the salesman says try accelerating through this turn, it will pull you right through. Uh duh, any car will do that, especially a FWD model.

And what's with the "lowest ego emissions" series of ads? That's pretty dumb too.

None of the other drivers are driving. They're just sitting there spouting off into their bullhorns.

And why did the VW car come with the bullhorn, if it doesn't need one?

And why was it okay for the woman to throw the bullhorn out the window? I'd rewrite the commercial so shortly after that, they get pulled over, and cited for littering at least.

I see where they're going with this, but it's just ending up stupid.

All I can say is *** yall!!!!

I'm on my third VW and I love em.

When you get the kind of resale value on your Charger that I've gotten on my VW's, let's talk you German-haters!!!!!
I can't comment for everyone else included in "yall", but I'm not bashing the VW cars in any way, just their commercials. They're stupid. Commercials are supposed to make me want to buy their product, their commercials would NOT do that, regardless of how good the vehicle is.

And I'm not so sure about the "German-haters" part either! Maybe I'm wrong, but aren't some of the parts in the Chargers German derived - from the Diamler-Benz side of things? And I guess we have to leave Canada alone, since they're assembled there. And Mexico, who provided the engines.

So, anyone who loves - uh, Spain, can just bite me! :zombie::)
