Slight shake at idle

Hello ladies and gents!

I just purchased my 2008 Charger R/T and I'm noticing that it has a slight shake when it's in park or idling at a light or something. It is not severe, but enough where you can feel the car wiggle side to side like someone is jerking it side to side. If I didn't know any better, I'd think I'm cammed or something!

Anything I should look for in specific?

No CEL, engine temp normal, RPMs dance between 620-640, the car overall seems OK but it is still annoying! :frown2:

Mine had a severe rough idle and hesitated and I had lost a ground off one of my plugs. Maybe check your plugs and make sure they are good and that they are the copper ones. I have heard of issues when people run the platinum or iridium plugs with the Hemi running rough

What you describe is called the "Hemi Shake" and it is normal. It has been discussed on this Forum since the first Hemi Chargers came out in 2006. It also goes back to early days of the Hemi engine and the reason why there are Hemi hood scoops called "Shakers"

Just think of it as a being like a caged beast chomping at the bit to be unleashed...:)

Depends on how bad the shake is and if the actual driveability is affected. I just picked up a Magnum I put back on the road, tuned out one of the pushrods had popped out of a rocker. Caused a very audible tick and shook alot while idling. Once I fixed that, nice and smooth.
