Llumar Tint suggestions

I am planning on getting tints done when I receive delivery of new car.

My current sedan has 5% tint on rear passenger windows and rear windshield plus 35% on front passenger windows. I also have all black interior which also makes it darker when looking from outside.

I have a shop that I want to use but they are limited to only Llumar tint. Llumar is great from what I have read and they have two different ceramic tints to consider (Pinnacle vs Stratos). Stratos provides highest level of heat rejection but both are considered premium tints.

Pinnacle offers tint shades of 5%, 15%, 30%, 35, and lighter.
Stratos offers tint shades of 15%, 30%, 35%, and lighter.

I prefer dark tint and haven't had any issues driving with my current setup but I am considering a single tint % all the way around (not front windshield) for a more esthetically pleasing exterior.

Is 15% too dark to function safely as a driver on front passenger windows? At night time I already have to lower windows occasionally if parallel parking to make sure I can see. Tints at night in rain is not ideal either. Anyone have experience with 15% tint?

Is 30% for all passenger windows and rear windshield too light?

Or do I continue with two tone of 5/15% for rear passenger windows and rear windshield plus 30/35% of front passenger windows?

15% should be fine, i agree 5% is a bit much, ive had it and it was useless in the dark or stormy days, 15% is dark enough but light enough to see. Pinnacle is durable and offers optical clarity. It’s also cheaper compared to Llumar Stratos. However, it won’t provide as much privacy. so really which one to choose depends on what you want

I'd say 15% will be fine for the majority of the time. I have 20% all around with a visor strip, black interior as well. 30% just isn't dark enough for me. On sunny days I wish I had something darker. The 20% is good at night for reducing glare, but not too dark. On very rare occasions I'll have to lower the window to see, but that's not often

Yea. I wish llumar offered a 20 or 25. Jump from 15 to 30 is annoying. What brand/type of tint did you get?

But do you think two-tone looks weird? If I did 30 up front and 15 in rear? I just drove home in the rain at night and it's the worst with dark tints. Maybe just me.

Have you considered what's legal in your state? Illegal tint is probably ignored in most cases but always gives the cops a valid reason to stop you if they want to.

Yea. NJ doesn't allow any tint in front passenger windows. My last 2 cars over a period of 10 year had Front door windows tinted and never pulled over for it.

Probably gonna go with 30/35 in front and 15 in rear with llumar stratos or 30/35 in front and 5/15 in rear with llumar Pinnacle.

At night it will all be dark. During daytime it will be a bit noticeable the transition from dark in back to not so dark in front... so probably better to to do 30/15. I am concerned about 15 in front. If I lived somewhere that rarely rained then 15 all around would probably be easier to do. Mixing rain droplets and glare on window is no bueno.

I use 5% all the way around besides the windshield which I’m probably going to tint to probably about 30% but I don’t live in a well lit area and 5% usually isn’t that bad for me occasionally I roll it down to see but very rare. I have had it on past vehicles too tho so I could be used to it so I don’t think 15 would be too bad. Just personal preference though

Yea. All about personal preference. I think I have decided on a single 15-18% all the way around. Depends on which brand/shop I go with.

I agree with it depending on your local weather patterns and personal comfort level. I am 10% all the way around with a windshield visor strip. But I live in AZ, all sun most of the year, so I don’t have to worry about the rain scenario much. But I do agree, when it DOES rain, it can get a little tough to see through.

Yea. Rain and snow at night is the worst with dark tints lol. I would avoid driving in snow altogether with charger once I get it but still sucks in rain at night.

as I get older (58) it's harder to "see through" the tint w/confidence at night.
every vehicle I've ever owned has been tinted by myself or my one tint peep.
back in the day (80's) we tinted our own exclusively and would do 2 layers of 5% that equated to 2% effective light transparency
we used to kid it would be alot easier to break out a can of rustoleum
laying tint on tint is an art.

anyway these days I do 20/25 doors and 5 rear, though I do alot of driving and have put up a cling tint on the rear window majority as well
It's funny to watch high beam idiots quickly give up acting out when they get zero effect
I also keep a smaller piece of static cling tint handy to throw up on driver's window because much of my evening commute in the summer has the setting sun right angle to driver's side of the car
