I have a 2014 SXT Plus and wanted help in getting a ghost cam tune set up on it. Any ideas?

A "ghost cam"? Isn't that the poser trick that some Mustang guys do to make their cars pollute more and idle badly so that people who don't know any better think they have an old-school, long-duration cam?

I've never heard of anyone trying that on a Pentastar.

And having a teenager driving around in a V8 charger is just a precursor to peeling that person off the pavement after they get WAY over their skis showing off and join Team Darwin. And besides, if you can't afford the insurance, you DEFINITELY can't afford the gas (and the tickets).

It's like that old addage for people that talk about buying a Ferrari and want to start out with a used one. If you can't afford a new one, you DEFINITELY can't afford to maintain a used one. :)

Best,

You would do far better to install decent brakes on the car - the SE/SXT have very small rotors and single piston calipers that are really only good for ONE hard stop, then they fade quickly. Eventually the rotors will build up sticky spots from the pads due to the excess heat created by having too small a rotor. They will get really "grabby" in spots and make you think the rotors are warped (if you have dark spots on the rotors-"cementite"- then they are junk and need to be replaced anyway). The easiest cheapest way is to put the front rotors & calipers off an RT on the car, they bolt right on and make a huge difference (you can upgrade the rears later). Just go to any parts house and tell them you want the rotors & calipers (and caliper brackets) for a 2014 RT with 5.7 V8 - NEVER mention anything about a V6 or they will give you the same parts you already have.

The Se/SXT brakes are known as the BR3, the RT brakes are the BR5, and the police brakes are the BR9 (parts for the BR9 swap are very hard to find and expensive)

I have two 2016 V6's (SXT+ and a Rallye) and the first upgrade I did to both was to replace the brakes on both - the wife's Rallye has RT/BR5 brakes all around, and my SXT+ has the huge police/BR9 brakes.

You are absolutely right. The stock V6 single piston front brakes are lethargic at best and downright dangerous at worst. Brake fade is a huge problem and brake shudder occurs even during daily commutes. I swapped all four corners with a Power Stop Z23 kit for an R/T. That has been, bar none, the best modification I have done to this car. Better than my stereo upgrade and 12" sub. The braking confidence and predictably is astounding. It should be a crime for Dodge to put single piston front brakes on these cars.

Look dude who cares what anyone else says are thinks if you like the sound of that I’d go with it I heard it and thought it sounded cool everyone says go with a v8 go with a v8 well If the buy me a v8 I’ll go with it but I got a v6 and not many people really do a lot of upgrades on then because there a v6 but maybe you could be the start of something you know the all hate yet most v6s with power upgrades will out do a v8 you want power of a hell cat you going to spend what 80k well if you got a v6 charger you could put 80k in and have just as good of a car

That makes absolutely no sense. Buy a used car + another $80k to make as good as a brand new $80k car? 🤔🤭😂
Not only would none of that work, but you’re also teaching the young man very bad economics.

You have a a muscle car who cares what it sounds like so if you make it sound how you want that’s good anuf not many other people can even say theve got a muscle car and what your 16? That’s very impressive yk I’m 18 and none of my friends have a car like me and the don’t know really anything different I could tell them it’s a v8 and thed believe it

Sigh…some people forget what it’s like being a teenager with a car to drive. Anyways, engine performance wise you may not get much out it so you could always make it into a better handler if you wanted to do something with it. Maybe a subtle drop and better struts. Better brake pads and rotors. Drive the car as long as you can while getting a degree or doing a trade…whatever career path you decide. Once your finances are in line then get a better car. Good luck.

If you look at my signature, I am on my second 3.6. I was not dissing your car. They are great cars, and you’re correct, most people don’t know the difference.

Others have listed the various reasons as to “why” it wouldn’t work. And there are already mods out there for the 3.6, take a look around the forum. It’s just mods that make sense.
And to answer your original question, it sounds like crap. I personally don’t care what type of car they are on, it ruins the car for me. I saw a Lotus Evora with one last night (probably wasn’t a ghost on that car) and it just totally made it funky in my opinion.

Bottom line, it’s your car, do what you want. But you asked.

You joined an hour ago to revive a 4 year old thread with that comment?
It'd be nice if you'd introduce yourself and your Charger (if you have one) instead.
To be honest, that attitude won't get you any respect here, and will eventually see you banned.
