Driver's side blowing HOT AIR after BATTERY DISCONNECT

Hey guys,

Someone hit-and-run my car while it was parked. Fortunately, there was a witness and insurance took care of it. I had a body shop repair the damage in the rear right bumper (driver side).

When I got my car back, the A/C of the driver side is just blowing hot air. They checked it and they told me that "the blower that distributes air is damaged." and the only thing that they did is to disconnect the battery to fix one of the tail lights. They don't wanna take responsibility right now since it is not related to the rear bumper.

What I could do is have the dealer take a look at it, and they told me that if it is something they caused, they will pay for it. I don't want to doubt or anything like that, kinda shady but also at the same time, who knows if its just a coincidence.

Current mileage about 60k. 2013 Dodge Charger SE.

Any idea how much will this cost? Anyone familiar with the AC system?

If its Blend door actuator, how much usually does it cost to fix it in the dealer?

I didn't notice ticking sounds from the glove area before I dropped it off to the body shop. I will pick up my car today.

2012, 13 and 14's have sometimes have weirdness with the HVAC and doors. Try this... Put it in recirc mode, and run the temperature up and down a few times - both sides if it has split / sync mode. See if it will blow cold like that.
Try doing another battery disconnect for a while.

And then the bad news if you do need to replace one...
"The blend door actuators do not require mechanical indexing to the blend door linkage, as they are electronically calibrated by the Heater, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Module. The heating and A/C system must be re-calibrated each time an actuator motor is replaced. See: A L L Diagnostic Trouble Codes ( DTC )\Testing and Inspection (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/HVAC - Standard Procedure)."

So I picked up my car in the body shop on Monday and my driver's AC is now working. They told me that they didn't do anything and they just scan it and there is no problem. I'm not a car guy so my theory was maybe the HVAC module got locked for some reason when they disconnected the battery and when they rescan my car, it fixes or it recalibrates itself?

BUT today, when I got to my car, I hear this rapid ticking sound coming from the driver's side, driver side dashboard I think. The AC still works, but what is this sound?

So by doing a quick research, it's probably the blend door actuator. I'll go to the dealer to get a quote. Since for now it is just a sound, what would be the worst case to happen (besides having driver side blow hot air, I don't think I would need AC atm here in California because it is getting colder and even if I do, I can just close the driver side vent right?) if I let it like that and don't fix it right away?

You took it in because of damage due to a hit and run. Comp. insurance claim? It worked before the you were hit and now it doesn't, right? Seems like it should be part of the damage / repair / claim?

Well, yes, I am using my Uninsured Motorist Property Damage because the other guy has no insurance. Hit was on the rear driver bumper and it was months ago. This problem just came after the body shop repaired the rear bumper. I don't think I could add it on the claim.
