Hello all, I have a question for anyone out there who has opinions/experience with either CAI add or an exhaust system add. My question is this, which is better to upgrade first? And does it make a notable power difference?

Thanks

i'v tried both k&n and afe cai and i would say that afe is better in sound and performance i also tried air aid( i hope that i got the name right ) and mopar cai for about 5 min each and they weren't better than the k&n .
i believe that you can find a thread on lx fourms about every cai dyno tested, the lmi was the best followed by afe.
as for the gain you would get around 10-15hp with the lmi or afe and i believe the same goes for the exhaust .

I got my AFE intake before my Flowmaster Force II exhaust. If I were to do it over I'd get the exhaust first. It makes the most noticeable difference. Not so much in hp but in sound.

I think depending on how your car left the factory you might notice a small improvement or it could perform slightly worse. For any meaningful gain, a tune would be necessary to make proper use of the power scavenging.

I got the exhaust done first (Flowmaster American Thunder cat back), the the CAI (AEM Brute force). I would definitely go with exhaust first, it makes the biggest difference in sound and "cool-ness" factor in my opinion. The CAI didn't provide a huge performance boost, but I definitely noticed a little more torque in the midrange area and it changed the tone of the exhaust a bit (for the better). The AEM and LMI seemed pretty similar in overall design, I went with the AEM intake because I knew a few guys that had good experience with it and it was cheaper on Amazon :)

I have the Force II and I think it's the perfect middle ground. Much, much better sounding than stock but with very minimal drone. When you get on it it's very muscular, but when you're cruising it's not in your face. I have a wife and kids so I didn't want anything too loud. Depends on what exactly you're looking for I guess.
