So I'm currently working on the my 2011 Dodge Charger Pursuit. I've purchased the 2017 radio, harness, and media hub. I've seen several people online that claim they have magically gotten everything to work yet when you ask them how they disappear, the car is totaled, or sold. Chime in if you have any advice. This is a work in progress So ill update this post as we figure it out.

Wiring so far:
Radio
Took the new harness and spliced it into the old.
positives match up
negatives match up
connect the canbus ihs+
connect the canbus ihs-
connect all speaker wiring
connect white rear antenna cable to the radio
That will at least get the radio power on and working.
You will probably need to get the unlock code from a website.

The only other wires I have connected so far are the rear camera (doesn't work for me).

AC control panel: also make sure you buy the hvac control module
red to positive
black to negative
orange and white wires will go to the canbus ihs+ and negative -
This will allow the volume and selector knob to work.

Things that work:
radio turns on
dimming
ac controls on the screen
ac controls on the dash
bluetooth
fm radio
Microphone mirror
USB hub
Android auto

Things that dont work:
back up camera / front camera
steering wheel
cant download apps
performance pages
tazer doesnt seem to do anything with the upgrade
alfaobd has limited ability to adjust anything
canbus C+ and C- im not sure if their is a fix for this or a work around

I tried to do it once but i gave up.

In the 2017 and up radios, if the radio is disconnected, radio fuse goes out, or battery is disconnected. It would take about an hour for most of the functions to work such as, performance pages, reverse camera, heated seats, and XM radio and some other features.

There is a way to make the reset last less but in my car does not work, simple press the top right corner for about 15 seconds and it should reset. Otherwise you will have to wait about an hour for everything to load. This means, don't touch the car for an hour, opening the door or unlocking the car will reset the timer.

When i tried to do this, i remember i gave up on the point to make work the AC controls, for this you would have to tap the STAR Can Bus connector by the driver and passenger footwell.

You won't be able to have all the features like 2015 and up because you are limited by the BCM. You could swap it but now this would be another nightmare because you will need to match up all the VIN, BCM PCM and RFH.

That's odd. I haven't had the issue with the reset. My turns off and on like normal. I just now got all the AC controls working. I had to add a 2017 model HVAC control module.

I'm still going from issue to issue. No matter what I do I can't get the reverse camera to activate. I'm pretty sure it's a bcm issue not communicating with the radio. Alfaobd shows the bcm has the right settings. Major headache.

Now you got two options here:

1. The BCM does not have the right settings

2. The radio needs to rest

I went to my 2015 Chrysler 300 with a 2020 Challenger radio.

I took some pictures before and after disconnecting the battery.

You can see before i had SRT pages back up cam, option for both heated seats, and XM radio

Then after i disconnected it it would only give me the option for driver heated seat, no camera settings, no XM radio or SRT pages.

Thats why i suggested maybe the screen needs a long reset. Now in an hour all my settings are going to be back.

Yeah thats the wrong USB Hub for android auto and apple car play.

You need 2 USB and one AUX port hub.

I appreciate it. I originally picked that one up and thought.... may be the sdcard was better or something. Should have gone with my gut. Were you ever able to download apps? The only thing I can think of is register it as another charger thats destroyed.

By any chance do you have a picture of the wiring? I already have everything I need just a little help with the wiring.

I got a 2014 Charger R/T and I did the 2015 radio swap with the harness RMP Racing Passion Movement
Unfortunately I have the Beats Audio system and it wont work with the factory amp. Anyone know of a way to bypass the factory amp to get sound? Will I need a separate amp or signal processor? Or can I just unplug the amp and jump wires from one harness to the other?

Would need to investigate pinouts for the amp and radio for signal sense wire for turning on, and or audio feed wires. Either match with that harness or Do away with the amp and re wire audio out put directly to the speakers.
