OK to laugh at me, this is my first post on here.
I have an 08 Charger I recently gave my daughter because I found a 2009 Police Interceptor [5.7]
I know the suspension and brakes are upgraded on these models so I am fearful to order wheels because most of the online shops do not have a police specific
sub- category.
To further my confusion the tires on the beast are a different size than what I see listed on most specs. [225 60R18] Currently.
I really want some custom wheels but need to know what if any are compatible.
Would really appreciate some enlightenment on this.
Thanks in advance,
jR

There is nothing really all that different. Hubs are the same as the R/t biggest difference is rear brakes are typically bigger. Otherwise any 18 in plus size rim should work that works on other chargers. Far as the tire size, fleet vehicles went with a "standard" tire size across several platforms. In 2014 they started putting 245 series tires ont he same rims (if you wanted a wider tire on same rim)

I really like the OEM wheel covers for RWD Pursuits. Most people can't even tell they're just covers. I have a set painted black on my '14 and an unpainted set on my '10. You can get the unpainted ones on Amazon. They used to be cheaper :( . ZY74ZDJAC Wheel Cover

I have a set of them on my 08.
Heck I didn't know they were plastic for 2 weeks after I bought the car lol

I have considered it.. but I think I want a more custom look on the 09.
Appreciate it!

Only difference on that vintage is whether it's RWD or AWD and the rear brakes; rear cop brakes those years have a thicker, larger diameter rotor but use the same calipers. Thought you had a ford for a minute lol, interceptor is their police trademark; Dodge's is Pursuit. If you have a RWD you can use any wheel a regular R/T can use.

LOL....Dodge police cars have always been called Pursuits (here's a 1964: https://www.hemmings.com/blog/article/they-call-em-the-dependables-1964-dodge-880-police-pursuit/ and a 1978: https://www.hemmings.com/blog/article/muscle-for-the-man-1978-plymouth-fury-a38-pursuit/). Not sure what year Ford started using "interceptor", but I know they've had it along time; plus no two competing large car companies would willingly share and kind of name or designation. What you have is a custom badge some idiot made lol: https://wholsalepolicegear.ecrater.com/p/12762977/hemi-interceptor-emblem. I'm sorry someone did that to your car.

Are you looking for a set of factory 18's (I have a Charger set and a Challenger set) at all? Even if you keep the stock steelies you can run up to a 245/55R18 no problem. Aftermarket then you're only limited by the width and offset. Cheap and easy performance upgrade that doesn't require anything but putting them in is to find a set of 06-10 SRT takeoff shocks/struts/springs, like these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-2010-...grade-Struts-Shocks-Springs/392275993162?hash=item5b5578a24a:g:a6sAAOSwq5BcsIG9
Much better for handling, lowers you about an inch. If you don't wanna firm up the ride a bit then don't do this. You already have the biggest factory sway bars available that year, some stiffer bushings (or even just new ones) and better links (stock links suck, I've busted several of them here, I'm partial to the Bwoody links; haven't broken one yet) will help alot. Before I did the Brembo swap on my old 06 R/T I swapped in police bars front and rear along with SRT suspension and the 245's I mentioned earlier. Made for an excellent daily:

If you're looking for an exhaust kit I still have the Magnaflow catback off this car (it got wrecked)

My first car was a 68 Fury 3.
I believe that had a 318 interceptor in it.
That's probably where my confusion comes from. I never really thought about it until now.
That's good info thank you.
I have stock rims now with the chrome center caps. I almost like them.. but then I look at the Lenali's and drool.
I spoke to my brother about pressing in polyurethane bushings as I've had trouble with my 08 $front end. That, and the 2.7 ;'(
Neither are the smoothest cars I've ever driven. It feels more like a large go kart with a really big motor lol
I could go for a less bumpy ride and I'd be thrilled I love the feel of the car. Almost reminds me of my 73, 80, Camaro, 76 TA.. but better. And faster lol
How much for exhaust?
