Hi
Im new
Just got a Charger SXT 06 with 40,000 Km and it has a HO 3.5
The tires are 225 60 18

I find that it will not spin the tires on pavement with or without the ESP on or off
Also I find the vehicle steering is "twitchy"

Are these standard traits of a charger.

Dont get me wrong, I am 46 years old and I dont want to go burning rubber like I was 16.
Just want to know if this is normal or is the engine in need of service

Thanks

I can't speak about spinning the tires, I rented an 09 3.5 Chrysler 300 and it didn't lay rubber, but I'd have the steering checked, It should NOT be "twitchy".

V6 wont do a burnout without working for it.

As for the steering, get that checked man.

I disable the ESP by pressing the button
It will not be completely turned off

From the responces I hear it is not a problem that the tires dont go up in smoke when step on it
Reading too many articles on the net. They do have a way with words.

Any how I love the car the way it is
I just would like the steering a bit more stable.
I thought it might be tuned for high speed cornering.
I will get the steering looked at

Thanks

Try doing the key trick to disable the ESP...start rolling at about 15mph and turn the key all the way to the right as if you were starting the car. Don't worry nothing will engage and cause damage...if you see 3 icons light up on the dash and hear a few chimes...that means ESP has been disabled completely.

I too noticed the steering isn't as stable as other cars I have owned and I bought mine brand new. It's sort of hard to describe and I would say it requires more correction and is way too easy to steer than other cars. I am sure the R/T's with the R/T package and SRT8's don't have this problem.

Thanks fluffy kush and charger sxt
I got to try that key thing just to know.

And Charger Sxt, That is what the steering feels like.
The car I got out of is a Buick so I am not use to a sport suspensin or a sport steering feel.
I will not jump the gun just yet
I think I will take it back to the salesman who I got it off of and ask him to take it for a quick drive.
I think he should know

Thanks

Another option is going to a dealer and test driving a new one. That should give you a good basis of what it should feel like.
