So I recently got to 130,000 miles in my 2009 Dodge Charger SE and got a check engine light. I read the code and it said it was the spark plugs so I got the OEM Mopar spark plugs, swapped them out, put every back together and my check engine light is still on. Do I have to clear the code myself or will it go away eventually?

What was the code? If it was related to the plugs, and the issue is resolved, it should go out in a few days. Or, you can disconnect the negative battery terminal, depress the brake pedal 30 seconds, and then reconnect. That should do it.

Depending on the code the spark plugs may be the only cause ... or there may be more than one possible cause and the spark plugs are the first on the list. If the problem was the spark plugs the code should go away after a certain number of drive cycles. Of course you can always clear the codes manually with a scanner or using N8ECH's procedure. If the problem was not the spark plugs the code will return after clearing it.
