Hey everyone i figured asking the people that live in hawaii is the best idea. My wife and i were in hawaii in Nov for our Honeymoon and are looking to come back to Hawaii before we have our first kid if the timing is right. We were in Oahu for a couple days already as well as Kuau'i and Maui. We LOVED maui and Kuau'i so i guess my question is what other Islands do you suggest? We would go back to both maybe but we want to see all of Hawaii

sorry for the long post just so stoked to comeback if we arent pregnant by then

thanks

John

I guess it depends on what the goal of your trip is. If you want nightlife and shopping, Oahu or maybe Maui is your best choice. If you want serenity and remote island getaways, Molokai and maybe Kauai would be good. If you want to see the volcano you would obviously need to go to the "big island".

IMO, Maui propbably is the best overall choice for beautiful scenery and beaches, lots of restaraunts and top notch hotels, an adequate nightlife as well as the ability to escape the throngs of tourists and find a remote beach for some island style "married" time. :bigthumb:
I would say the island of Hawaii, aka the big island has the best views and is the most laid back. I have alot of family there and visit there alot. but if you only spent a couple of days here on oahu, I suggest coming back because you probrably havent seen everything yet.
Yeah i think i want to adventure and quiet at the same time. We do want to see a volcano and didnt get to see it while in maui. was able to do 4wheeling which i havent done since i was younger. We were on Kauai at the kipu ranch and if you ever go the 2 brothers that are guides are great and highly recommend them. Did the snuba diving but want to try the real deal and scuba dive so any suggestions for that would be great we did that at molakini? but would love to go somewhere with the more fish then what we saw. Anyother andventure things you can think of would be great
I went to Maui for my honeymoon. My wife (now ex) wasn't into the nightlife but there was still alot to do. The Road to Hanna is a nice/slow drive. Back then they said that the road wasn't good enough to continue around the island. We were advised to turn around when we left Hanna. The rental Mustang made it just fine! It actually wasn't that bad :) Really pretty scenery on the back road and there any other people to be seen.

We spent a few days on the Big Island and flew over the volcano. That was cool to see!

Years back i went to Maui for a family trip, one of the best places i have ever vacationed.
If you want to see all of Hawaii, you should go to an island you have been to.

I drove that road once with the family. You're right, the scenery is amazing! Its hard to believe some of the residents of Hana actually drive out of there every day! Talk about a curvy road. I remember that by the end of the day my wife and kids were all complaining of a sore neck. Its also an easy road to get motioin sick on so if you tackle the drive with passengers plan accordingly. It truly is a beautiful drive and everyone needs to experience it at least once. But once you get there you'll probably be saying... once is enough.
I will give my input. Keep in mind, I am in boring old Iowa. ;)

Over the past 7 years we have gone to a few of the islands. The Big Island- Great time in Kona area. If you like sandy beaches, big island is tough. If you like views and lava rock and volcano's and laid back. Great island. We drove all over the place. Hilo side is more "old hawaii." Don't be in a rush in your travels on this island as the winding hiway around the island does not move fast, but who's in a hurry???? We are there just to kick back and do whatever comes our way.

Oahau- Great over all island for best of both worlds. If you have kids they will be kept busy too. We love the north shore in the Haleiwa area and are staying up there for 14 days over Christmas this year. You have the relaxed, laid back north shore, but you can go to Honolulu in 40 minutes for any night life and action you want! Most beautful areas are North and East island. IMO. Again, I live in Iowa. ;)

Kauai- Beautiful all around island! No matter where you are you see blue sky, mountains and or water. Laid back too. Lots of green, some waterfalls but is smaller island and you can drive around it pretty quick. Rains a lot at night so days are great! Not much for kids to do.

Bottom line is......You can't go wrong! All islands are beautiful and people are nice but I am sure they get tired of us tourists too. We like finding small local shops, coffee houses and kick back.
Good luck:beerchug:
