No matter how hard I try, I can not stop the little scratches and swirls that appear on my Black SRT8. You can really notice them in the sunlight.

I normally use a paste wax (mcguires or turtle)with a cotton applicator pad and remove with a micro fiber towel.

Anybody have suggestions how to combat this?

3M makes a glaze that reduces swirl marks which is very noticeable on dark colored cars. I have used it and it reduces the swirl marks alot...try it. Buy it at auto supply stores.

Over the counter stuff works to a degree but the only real way to remove those cobweb scratches and micromars is a porter cable and some decent polish. Autopia.org is a great place to start.

Porter cables are basically a DA (dual action) buffer that polishes very well. Search Autopia for porter cable and you'll find plenty of info.
