I heard brake caliper paint is what you should use (as it can handle high temperatures better than regular paint)

But I am not positive.

You can use any type of paint. Consider when people are getting airbrushed artwork on theirs. Also consider this: The firewall and inner fenders are painted with the same paint as the exterior. They are subject to the same temps, and yet they dont damage.

You can get high temp paint at any local auto store. You're going to want to get the high temp primer and paint. They also should have a high temp clear coat as well.

I would think high temp would look better on the long haul. /shrug/

If you paint the plastic you might want to get a plastic adhesion helper. I do not think that you would need high temp paint. I painted my intake tube (aluminum) with a spray can.
