Not to sound like a jerk, but there are multiple threads on this discussion in this forum (Performance Discussion)!

Yeah, from what I am hearing, I would stay away from K&N, as it sounds like it doesn't filter as well!

LMI (Leg Maker Intakes) is tossed around a lot as a good one!

Ideally you want to find a cold air intake that pulls fresh air from in front of the car, and not from the engine bay!

You definitely want to read on the forums and learn and not just have the answer handed to you!

Perhaps off-topic, but can we get a sub-forum that focuses on CAIs and Exhausts so that we can all be spared the endless new threads asking about them?

New guys invariably don't search for information and since they don't see it in the general index, they all post the same questions repeatedly.

I think a sub-forum on CAIs and Exhausts would attract them like moths to the flame on these topics (and keep them out of the general discussion asking the same questions over and over again).

Sorry Guys

Hey guy's I knew I would get some flack about posting this thread but I just needed a quick response and from past experiences I never got that from replying or asking questions from threads that have more than 1 or 2 pages on them so sorry about that but I needed a quick response anyways I appreciate the input I think LMI is going to be it.

Numerous members gave the LMI. I've owned 2 Chargers and have put AFE2s on both.

I suggested that about a year ago. Got shot down.

So the LMI is the way to go.
Or make you own...

A CAI is all about what you want out of it.

Do you want looks? (just get what you like)

Do you want a nice sound (some are better than others but generally all make a better sound than stock)

Do you want a small performance gain on stock/mildly modded engines along with the sound and looks? (get an LMI true CAI or make your own)

Do you want 95%+ of the performance gain you can get on a stock/mildly modded engine from the best of them for less money? (Just replace your stock air filter with a high-flow drop-in)

There is little magic in any CAI, they only add a small amount of performance gain by reducing turbulence (increased flow) and bringing in cooler air than stock...and the better sound comes from the rigid tubing and high flow filter elements.

The real problem is that many of the aftermarket CAIs are poorly designed and will actually reduce flow compared to the stock design resulting in performance loss.
