Does Anyone Know If You Remove The Cats Does This Void Your Warranty?? And If So Which Part Of The Warranty??... I'm Having Custom Exhaust Done On My Car Next Week And The Guy Wants To Do A Bad Ass Set-up But It Is Going To Be W/out Cats... Any Good Or Bad Response Would Be Appreciated... Thanks

if you run into any problems swap everything back on LOL really shouldn't cause warranty problems unless they can actually prove that those mods did the damage.....

Won't cat removal improve gas mileage? I'm thinking about removing mine if it will LMAO it'll get louder too. I'm going to wait and see what happens when I put my borlas on next week to decided if no cat will be good.

I believe your check engine light will probably always be on if you do it.

the only warranty problems you "should" encounter are with that particular part...if your aftermarket "cats" crap on you or give you problems then they won't cover it.....

also it "shouldn't" impact your tranny if you aftermarket "cats" give you problems....does that make any sense....

i say go for it and if you have problems - jack her up and switch everything that was oe back up... i have my exhaust in the shed in case i need to put it back on for any reason.

Besides warranty issues there will be emissions issues in most states if not all in this day and age. I would use a high flow cat but wouldn't run with no cats unless the car was strictly off road.

oh yeah - i didn't even notice that part..i thought he was getting some made...oops on my part...yeah it will throw codes and run like sh*t based on what i have read at another forum. the sensors (oxygen and the such) need to be attached....take the cats off and nothing to plug them into....so a definite potential mess.

as far as states go - i know cal. is big on emmisions but not in la....they do not care about that (YET).

Even if you took the time to weld the o2 bungs in with no cats there should still be a code thrown since the data the sensor will report will not be within spec. Like GoDaddy said it will run like sh*t. Until someone releases some programming software to modify this part of the program or o2 simulators your going to need cats.

I Talked To My Exhaust Guy He Says That By Mounting The O2 Sensors Back And The One That's Further Away From The Engine He Will Mount On An Angle So That The Computer Will Read Accurate.. I'm Not Sure If It Will Work But He Is Willing To Work With Me & I Will Be There When He Is Fabricating It Up.. He Said If I Want He Will Leave The Cats On But For Prototype He Wants To Make One With The Cats Off.. What Do You Guys Think... I Will Certainly Let You Know By Next Friday What The Deal Is He In Stalling Next Thursday 9-15.. Says This Type Of Fabrication Will Take All Day... His Website Is Exhaustdepot.com Hector If Any Of Your Guys Has Heard Of Him.. He Usually Does Srt's (neons).. Let Me Know.. Thanks

I'm Back He Just Finished A New Ram No Cats... Mounted The O2 Sensors Back And No Check Engine Light.. And I Will Look For The Website Which He Did A Sound Bit On ... It Really Sounds Awesome... Give Me A Bit And I Will Find It..

He Said Mine Would Sound Pretty Much The Same Due To The 5.7 Hemi. I Told Him That I Might Want It A Little Bit Quieter.. For A Truck That's Cool But For A Car It Might Be Too Loud What Do You Guys Think.. Also This Setup Is Flanged Not Fully Welded So I Can Remove Parts And Be Able To Tune My Own Exhaust In The Future With Other Resonators.. His Charge For A Complete System To Be The First Is $600 He Will Retail It After He Does Mine For About $1000 What Do You Think Of The Price..his Kit Includes X-pipe Resonators And Any Style Of S/s Tips I Would Like Plus He Will Custom Tune It Any Way I Want.. Sounds Like A Decent Deal... Any Thoughts??thanks

ok if you are going this route i have to tell you to go ahead and get the dynatech headers without the high flow cats....it is like 900 or so and then have him put this setup on.....son it is gonna be MAD LOUD!!!!

it does sound incredible.....if he can slap it on and then you guys go for a ride and if it is too loud - he can tune it down for you - go for it!!!!! :rockon: :rockon: :rockon:

man you are definitely going to sound like a damn "stock car" after this set up...

Do us a favor and don't take your cats off. Auto mgf's have spent millions and millions of dollars designing these engines to out-perform, and get twice to 3 times as good gas mileage, as the engine our fathers toyed with. All of your new found horepower and mileage are in the electronic and computer technology, not the pushrods, pistons engine block....ect... ect. Not to mention the pollutants you will be forcing us breath ( i sound like a greenpeacer ). He's , your muffer guy, not going to be able to keep your engine light from coming on by angling the sensor ? The o 2 sensors measure pre and post exhaust gasses and a big part of why these engines are so efficient, so unless he can change the results or the measurements your light will come on, and what gearhead feels comfortable driving in the middle of nowhere with the check engine light on. Oh, I forgot to mention it's a $2500 fine for each infraction to him, $500 for you, for each cat. tampered with.
Do what ever your heart desires behind the converters.

Thanks For Your Input.. I Have Already Told Him That I Do Not Want The Cats Off And Just Run A Custom Made X-pipe With Cat Back Resonators And 4" S/s Tips.. Thanks For Your Tip...

no fine for me - i don't live in cali. sorry cali guys...the rest of the states don't care about emissions....after all about 10 miles from here are about 10 plants that i am sure (even with the stringent air pollution laws) are dumping tons of crap into our water and air....my 2 cents

Sounds About The Same For Me, Florida No Emmissions Here And Like Godaddy Said.. Plenty Of Landfills In Florida And All Dumping Plenty Of Who Knows What Kind Of Crap In The Air... Just My Opinion...

Lucky you !!!....I think.....maybe...... No hills to hold that smog in anyway, it just blows to another country :happy:

yeah been to la.....i can "see" why...that place had such a bad smog when i was there.....just a dome of terrible air....not sure what you guys would do if you had fresh air....hehe (can you smell flowers...lol) ok sorry i will stop.

Your going to see more HP without cats. ECU tuning will only get you so far, to think that all other modifications are obsolete is ignorant. The service engine soon light can be kept off by putting resistors inline with the SIGNAL wire. I belive 100K Ohm will work.
