Hey everyone, so basically i'm tired of having a loud and droney exhaust.
What can I do to make it quieter?
I'm looking for the cheapest route. Not looking to spend like a bunch on it.
Right now I have a single Flowmaster Super 44 and a reso delete.
Please help me out.

I have a dual in dual out borla turbo xl. They're made for performance not sound, it is much quieter than Flowmaster super 44. I would sell you this muffler and possible buy your super 44 because I'm looking to make mine louder.

Yeah i've heard that by changing just the muffler with this setup, the sounds will be much more quiter.
So i'm curious as to what muffler is the quitest

Put the resonators back in! This will help eliminate the drone and quite down the vehicle. There is an exhaust mod out there known as the Brycleem (SP?) mod, this takes the stock exhaust and cuts out the suitcase muffler, but leaves the resonators in. There is supposedly no drone and it makes the tone of the exhaust much nicer.

I don't know for sure since I haven't heard a Charger with this mod on it yet.

I am interested though!

Take off the chrome trim rings in the bumper and put on some tips that just stick out from the bumper. Doesn't have to be much..1/4" will work. This gets the exhaust exiting behind the car, not into the bumper..made mine almost too quiet.

RT Exhaust! You'll never quieter than OEM exhaust. Check Craigslist in your area. I got mine for $100.

The easiest and most likely cheapest route is to go back to stock.

if you don't want the resonators back on, replace the flowmasters with dynomax VT's
Yeah, someone else told me about just putting that muffler on and it will quiet it down a whole lot even without resonators

The thing is, I trashed my OEM muffler/resonator like an idiot.

Probably lots of them around; check craigslist, wreckers, etc.

Post a WTB thread in the buy/sell section.

Put some glasspacks where the Resos belong. Viola, no drone.

I have my resonator from a 2015 dodge RT charger. looking to sell my car before my scat pack comes in by the end of the month and was keeping them just incase the buyer might want quieter exhaust.
I would give them to you if you needed them and they could work for your v6 setup. If I sell the car and the new buyer didn't want them I would just give them to you.

It sounds like the problem you're having is too much cabin noise, aka Drone. It's probably worst when the MDS kicks in too, right? This is because you removed your resonators. MoparRT said you could use glasspacks in place of the resonators, this might work, but the best bet is to return factory resonators where they belong. Since you tossed yours look on craigslist and ebay. You shouldn't need to replace the entire exhaust, just the resonators. the Brylcreem mod leaves the resonators on and removes the mufflers completely and it has no cabin drone and isn't too loud, except when you romp on it. So if you leave your current mufflers on, add the resos and you should be a happy camper and shouldn't cost too much.

No MDS on a V6, but your point is valid. Resonators are for drone reduction/modification and mufflers are for sound reduction/modification.

Also, on a V6 unless you have made it a true dual exhaust, the one pipe into two will drone like crazy without the resonators. I noticed the OP only has one muffler.

If you can't find a set of Reso's or don't want to buy them used... Just go to any Exhaust shop and have them install the cheapest Turbo mufflers and weld them as Reso's....I did this with my first set up. No Drone and Cheap. About $20-25 per muffler.

The Flowmaster 44 isn't a ton louder then the stock suit case. So just adding the Turbo mufflers will bring it almost back to stock, but with a little better sound.

Dual or Single exhaust on 3.5?

This is probably an unrelated question and so I apologize in advance. I was screwin around underneath car and it occurred to me that those two long pipes coming from up in the engine bay have to be the headers coming down- they mate up with a Y-pipe and head downstream, where it mates with the Y-pipe of a Blastin' Bob's exhaust kit. Does this mean that the car was initially setup for dual and somehow got switched to single outlet? Even the rear bumper had the cutout for a second pipe. Just wondering, is all.
