Just a heads up that my VISracing hood is having issues with white spots under the clear on 3 areas of the hood. VISracing seems to not care which is really disappointing as I have stood behind them for well over 2 years now! They actually encouraged me to post this on the forums and on Facebook as he said this is an isolated issue with mine. The response has been many have been having this issue, and they just colormatched it. I know when you buy the cheaper carbon fiber hoods, these type of issues can happen for sure!

VIS said if it was the clear, the white spots would go away when you run water over it. They do NOT go away. It is under the clear. My car has been garaged 99% of its life, so weather is not the factor. This just happened over night, and not over a course of time. They were not there one day, and then there the next!

Needless to say, I will either sell the hood or just have it colormatched! Just a heads up if you are considering this hood. It has no warranty, nor will VISracing stand behind it.

Sell it. It is delaminating. Poor material construction.

The clear surface layer is separating from the carbon fiber base layer. It will simply get worse over time and may eventually crack and separate a large sheet. Color matching it is just hiding the underlying defect.

^^So even by laying down fiberglass Ddaddy there is no way to save this hood is what you are thinking?

And if that being the case, I would never sell it to another member/person knowing that. I would just rather burn it and keep my conscious clear!

Permanently repairing it will be nearly impossible since it would require removing all of gel coat down to the fiber in order to properly replace the defective material.

You can paint it and see how long it lasts, but since yours is a show car that probably isn't a great idea. You could sell it to someone else as long as you disclose the defect and risk of it getting worse. Then they can decide if they want to paint it and see how long it lasts.

I agree with Ddaddy, from the looks of the pictures it will only get worst. TKS for posting this because I was looking at either the SRT front fascia and the Vis hood or just going with the SRT fascia and keeping my Daytona hood.

Sorry to hear about this and VIS not standing by their product.

Something to think about, You could Plasti-dip the hood and use the Plasti-dip gloss or put on a carbon fiber wrap. Both of these choices can be done fairly easily. It may not get any worst than it is but this would be a cheap alternative to replacing or painting over the hood.
