Got an update my hood is in trim so it wont be long now.
Question for VFN owners
What was your prep process for VFN fiberglass?

I have my own equipment and am comfortable spraying base coat and clear, but just want to make sure I prep this thing right

any tips

i just did a trufiber hood for my charger. if the top layer of your hood is gelcoat like mine was. i sprayed guide coat on the whole thing and block sanded it with 180 grit use a long block. i blocked until all the guide coat was gone then did it again with guide coat and still 180 grit. after i was sure all the waves were gone i put 5 coats of primer surfacer on it blocked it with 180 twice again then used 320 grit on a DA to get my sand scratched out. and wet sanded with 600. sealed it with primer sealer, base coat and cleared it.

whn you sand the gelcoat try not to get into the resin or it will pin hole witch you can fill with primer,
