I have finally tallied up the donations and with the deductions for the extra shirts and food that was needed as emergency back up, the total raised was $1,888.00. This includes donations made direct to the charities. It surpasses what I thought we would do. In comaprison, but not to minimize what they do, the cruise night in Brattleboro has their cruise night to benefit Make A Wish and they did $1,900.00 ALL LAST YEAR. I will be contacting the National Chapter for Make a Wish to arrange for the donation and also Grace Cottage Hospital. You people deserve a round of applause because I think this is awesome. Thanks everyone.

Congrats to all who participated! That's awesome!

I wish I could have made it. If it happens again next year, I'll have to make that one.

This is awesome, Gary!!! Applause right back to you. What a nice amount of money for both. Although we all know, that even the smallest gift can make a big difference, this amount surpasses even my expectations, which were not small, by any means.

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you. I knew you could do it. It was for a good cause.

Make a Wish Donation...

Thanks for the info Gary.

Rob, Aaron's gift to Make A Wish alone was quite impressive. When I saw it, I immediately thought "cool". That right there, together with the other donations and proceeds from the cruise was at least half a wish for one child (some have smaller, some have bigger wishes) - of course the Make a Wish Foundation fulfills them all.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, to you and all who gave.

Wonderful, and great job

Thank you for passing on the news, I have been away online and once again catching up on the posts. Great news and as said before, you had a beautiful turnout for your first show.

VERY nice!!!

Everyone that did the hard work setting this event up and running it should be very proud.

I bet that great total gets blown away next year. Word of mouth on how good the cruise and show was will certainly draw even more cars/participants next time.

Torch Vert, thank you for taking a moment to post. The same goes right back to you... We cannot thank you enough for joining us on this cruise... and everybody who joined.

Let me also express a heartfelt thank-you to MSP Sgt. A. Joubert and his Troopers of the Springfield barracks who escorted us on our 1st Annual Cruise In/Car Show "Cruisin' For a Good Cause" with their MSP Chargers.

To recap:

This cruise/drive in, appropriately titled "Cruisin' For a Good Cause", kicked off at the Springfield Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday morning, 25 August 2007, where old school and modern muscle cars gathered to drive up to Townshend, Vermont for fun and final judging.

The purpose of this cool muscle car show was to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Grace Cottage Hospital, a small community hospital in Vermont.

It certainly wouldn't have been the fun and success it was, had we not had the privilege and pleasure of having the MSP Troopers join us for the drive. They were the best!!!! And it was tremendous fun.

Channel 22 News did a small clip and interview about the cruise and aired it on the Saturday 6 o'clock evening news. Here is a music video recap.

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you to all.

Hey, Torch Vert....

I haven't seen any posts from you lately. Are you still peeking in from time to time? I bet you're enjoying the gorgeous weather in your red convertible. Don't blame you. But do stop by and say hi again some time soon.
