I spilled gasoline in the trunk of my 2011 Charger Mopar Edition & am looking for a durable mat that is trimmed to fit like the OEM mat, but can protect my trunk for the next time. I have a 1/5 gas-powered R/C truck and that trunk is the only way I can get it around, so there will be a next time. I found a few options (like this one) from 'Auto Anything', but wanted to get some input from other Charger owners. Thanks!

Those trunk liners are great for wet and messy spills, but I'm not sure they'd be the best for oil or gas... How big is the R/C Truck? I wonder if you could use some of those inexpensive aluminum roaster pans? A big one, like used for roasting a turkey would prevent gas from getting into the rubber or carpet. ;)

Or maybe a big ass rubber maid tote?

I'd try to stay away from plastic or rubber, since gas or oil may soak in to it or damage it. That's why I suggested the metal roaster pans. ;)

The truck takes up the entire trunk. It's 1/5 scale:

Length:35.75 in (908mm)
Width:26.25 in (664mm)
Height:16.25 in (412.8mm)

I dunno if I'm motivated enough to search around for a set of turkey roaster pans ... I'm thinking one of those heavy duty rubber ones would do the trick - if I spill again I'll know right away and pull it out & hose off...I doubt it'd soak through and stick around the way the carpet version did. I have that whole cardboard thing outside drying now...I hosed it down and soaped it up with fabric softener & some standard laundry soap. Hopefully that'll help with the stench. I'd previously tried odor eaters, baking soda, and carpet-cleaning powder you use when you vacuum, but it still smelled like gasoline.

The pans I'm talking about are like heavy-duty tinfoil. Available at any grocery store and only cost a couple dollars. They can also be "molded" to fit. ;)

Nice truck!

Well I bought the product by WeatherTech, and it doesn't fit. It isn't even that close. Supposedly I got the one designed for the Charger, but now I'm wondering how much smaller my trunk might be than the standard R/T version...though the sway bars in the trunk don't seem to really be in the way of the mat..either way, it's going back. Annoyed.

The trunk on these cars are pretty much identical, for the same year.
Double-check the part number with the year of your car, it sounds like it's the wrong one.

Cargo Liner

The WeatherTech liner didn't fit - actually it wasn't even really close, even though the model I bought says it works with the 2011 Charger right on the box. I dunno; the 'Mopar Edition' trunk must have slightly different dimensions if this product fits other Charger models. I'm returning the Weathertech & ordered a Husky liner to replace it. Those look a little tougher anyway from the photos.

Unfortunately after having the trunk walls & carpet shampooed at the car wash and all sorts of methods of odor elimination, it still reeks when I open the trunk. At least it doesn't smell inside the cabin anymore...but I don't think that smell in the trunk is going away.:frown2:

I have the Husky liner, and oil/gas don't bother it at all.

When you park the car for the night, place an open, flat container in the trunk with an inch or so of baking soda in it, that might help absorb the odors?
When the carpet was scrubbed, did you wash the insulation also? Did you remove the spare tire and everything and wash them? Just a small amount of gas can make lots of odor in an enclosed space.
Can you park it in the sun with the trunk open for a few hours?

So I returned the Weathertech liner and ordered one from Husky. Same exact problem. The size of the Mopar Edition trunk is definitely different from the other 2011 models. I think I'm going to have to trim it to fit, but I can't imagine I'll be able to do it well. Anyone know where I can find the dimensions?

I don't know what to say. I HIGHLY doubt there is any difference in the body structure of a mopar11 vs. a regular R/T....any change to the unibody and it would need to be custom done off the assembly line, may need to be re crash certified, etc. there is no way there is any difference in the sheetmetal, and I doubt there's any difference in the molded/carpeted liner pieces either, as tooling, service part inventory, etc. for a custom order of ~ 1000 sets would add thousands onto the original cost of the car....

Cargo Liner

These are the products I tried:

Husky Liners Trunk Liner Fits 11-16 300/Charger AWD/RWD

2006 - 2014 Dodge Charger - WeatherTech Custom CARGO TRUNK Liners

I agree it is unlikely the trunk is a completely different size, but the only other thing I can think of is the sway bars + perhaps the custom interior in the Mopar Edition..(.maybe the rear seats are slightly larger) account for that extra foot of material. I think I'm going to just keep the Husky model (for no other reason than that's the one I have here and already returned the Weathertech) and attempt to just measure & term it as best I can. It will probably look like crap but I don't care much as long as it provides the protection I'm looking for. Or maybe I'll wait a little while my till I can pull some scratch together and have the car audio guy do it when I finally get my subwoofer box & amp installed...probably the right move now that I think about it, since that speaker box is going to change things.
