Transmission Temp sending unit install?

Has there been anyone to install a transmission temp sending unit on the nag1 transmissions? I've tried to look a couple times on here as well as on the lx forums but it's kinda hard to find because there are so many thread on measuring the fluid level.

I'm looking because I wanted a cheap way to check my trans temp so i make sure it's up to temp before accelerating too hard.

Thanks guys

You don't need to worry about the tranny temp. As long as the engine is up to temp then the tranny will be fine. It exchanges heat with the engine.

Also, with a 3.5L, you are never going to stress the Nag 1 tranny.
i'm installing a supercharger soon, i know it's not needed but i'm for knowing whats going on.
Even with a Supercharger, you won't be stressing the NAG1 with a 3.5L engine. Also the issue with tranny temp is being too hot, not being up to temp.

Either way, if you really want a gauge, check these out. They are complete kits.

I just wanted to know where people commonly install the temp sensor on the nag1's. It's nice in the winter. Once temps dip below 0 my transmission likes to hold gears.
The tranny is designed to hold gears when cold to warm up the fluid. It's controlled by the TCM.

Not many folks bother with a tranny temp sensor so there's not a big database to draw from. Those that do install them generally seem to put the sensor in the side of the trans pan. I have seen one or two that rigged it to go down into the dipstick tube.
