I have a 2007 2.7L Charger and it shudders when trying to maintain a speed. For example while accelerating to 45mph its fine but trying to maintain 45mph with lite foot on the accelerator it shudders. I don't lose rev's or anything and if I give it some more gas or let off it stops. I check the transmission fluid a few days ago and it was low. I added more fluid and it got a little smoother but it is doing it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How many miles on it? Transmission you have is 42RLE 4 speed or the NAG1 5 speed?

Both of these transmissions are very picky on condition of the modifiers in the fluid. If you have cooked out the modifiers then the trans is going to shudder, hesitate between shifts and also bump stop or bump downshift. ;)

You may want to have us make you a new batch of QuantumBlue and get a free filter/gasket kit to go with it.:bigthumb:

It has almost 130,000 I assume its the 42RLE transmission. I'm not really sure how to tell, its just the very base model charger. It runs at about 3000 rpm around 85mph so I think its only a 4 speed tranny.

Sounds about right although a little high. Typically the 42RLE will run about 2150 at 70 mph and around 2,600 at 80.

I would suggest replacing the trans fluid with a pan drain and fill. You can use our ATF+4++2A fluid with 18% more friction modifiers and swap out by dropping the pan. We were offering a free filter and gasket kit last month and I would still honor that if you wished to do that. It would save you $32.78 for the kit anyway. The new fluid and modifers would allow the trans to grab between the clutches and stop the problems you are having.:bigthumb:

Don't want to do a full flush at that many miles. ;)
