totaled?

some guy stopped in the middle of the road in a 50 zone with no warning, wasn’t able to stop that fast. airbags deployed. what’s the chance it’s totaled?

All of that will matter. I’m not sure if the airbags will play into anything, but have seen some say it does.

My little fender bender is up to $7600, and it was just the drivers side fender, light, bumper cover and all of million little pieces that hold that together.

Bad week for my Charger

Must just be my day for overall trunk lid issues. First, the reverse guidelines, then when I came home I was backing into my spot and noticed in the reflection of a window that my driver side Reverse light is out. Sigh I RTFM and it states “take to dealer”, wrong answer! I also searched here...

Airbags will make a difference in repair costs but I don't know if it always results in the car being totaled. Example:
If the Driver AirBag (DAB) has been deployed, the steering wheel, the clockspring and the complete steering column with lower steering column coupler must be replaced along with the DAB.

Sad too see, but it's why you must always maintain a safe distance. Never know when a deer or child my run out in front of the car in front of you.
Totalled, it's borderline for sure. Insurance will look at that one closely. My first impression, totaled.

Might not be totaled. Note the gap between the right fender and the door. Usually, if there is significant structural deformation of the frame, that gap gets all messed up. That said, if it was my car, I'd probably not want it back after taking a hit like that.

I apologize, that wasn’t meant as a personal question. It was more rhetorical.

All of those things will matter, that first link that I posted should lead you to what and why I asked about those things. Year, model and miles obviously matter for book value. Each state has rules on the FMV/AMV (Fair Market Value and Actual Market Value) percentage allowed, there should be a hyperlink in that article for that. If not, it’s easily found on Google.

From my very recent (current) experience, there is a lot more damage there than you think, even if you think they’re a sh** ton of damage. Ultimately, you can’t tell until an adjuster actually gets into it (Not the estimate) and your insurance company decides based off of the above mentioned information. Like I said, mine doubled from the estimate to them getting it into the garage.

That was a hard smack. I would not be surprised if it is totalled. Just have to see what the adjuster says.
