Can anyone help? I recently purchased a 2012 Charger SRT8 with 22 inch wheels. During test drive and 600 miles there were no problems. Now the left front wheel rubs during slow, tight turning maneuvers. The tire size on the front is 265/35. I took the vehicle to the Dodge dealership and they put it on the rack. The service guys said the struts and springs are fine and I should go back to the stock wheels. My only thought is is this is a new problem. During the purchase the tires were fine and the fenders looked fine. Now I see a slight buckle in the fender from the rubbing and the tire has some scars. The difference in clearance is 1/4 inch difference between the left front compared to the right front. Has anyone experienced similar problems?

Thank You

Thank you, so I'm not great at tire stuff but is this possible with the tires I'm running? They are Nitto NT420s. They have that tire tread that is different on the inner portion of the tire. The rear tires on the rear are 295/30. Any thoughts what would happen if I put 265/30 on the front?

Those tires are not directional, so you can rotate them. Putting a 265/30 tire on the front is going to lower the overall height of the wheel/tire combo. Plenty of people use 275's on the front and a few have complained of rubbing when having the wheel locked to one side or the other. This sounds like what you are experiencing but you say it's only happening on one side. That's what makes me think it's just the one tire being inconsistently wider than the other.

Chippy,
I have 22" wheels with the 265/35 profile tires on my car (same on all four wheels) and I don't experience any rubbing under any conditions. My 2012 is a Charger R/T and the fender clearance could be different between it and an SRT ... but there are some statements you made that make me suspicious.
No problems during the test drive, or for 600 miles, but now you have rubbing. There is a 1/4" difference between height of left and right front. I'm not sure which reference points you used in the height measurement but they should measure very close to the same height.
I would get a second opinion about the front-end suspension. A reputable tire center that has state-of-the-art (calibrated) front-end alignment equipment should have the experience to check your suspension.
