Rob at Westfield did the first test fit. the front is quite different that RWD, so I think they have enough info to be able to continue on the development of the AWD. So be patient buddy. Pedders will come thru!!

I'm not worried about that, Mike. Myself and a few other AWD guys are keeping track of the Pedderize threads! :ninja:

I lost my manual and i just brought new tires what is the psi for the tires
If your new tires are the same size as the original, stock tires, go by the door frame sign. I bought 20" rims with new tires and asked the vendor what the pressure should be and he said around 40 psi would be good. The tire itself is marked with "Max Load at 50 psi...". I'm now running 45 psi. in them and so far, so good. I will be keeping a close eye on the wear-patterns across the tread, as well. Running the pressure a little higher will give you a little higher mpg's, too. It could "possibly" give you better handling, but also possibly a rougher ride, depending on the tires. Do NOT exceed the pressure rating on the side of the tire, either!

what size tires are best to run with 18's i have found 3 different sizes from the links posted in the first post.

thankyou
depends on your car model. Sizes are different on daytonas then the r/ts because of the higher limiter, and speed ratings

my i add http://www.tirerack.com/about/techcenter.jsp

with special attention needing to be put on this page here
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=48

this is the utqg rating page. This is a tire grading system that is done by an independant goverment agency. this is the BEST way to compare tire to tire for the value and cost.
treadware basics
softer tires 200 -360 treadwear , soft , comfortable, wear out quick,
hardger tires 400 treadwear + hard, stiff, take more mileage to wear

temp
tire temp is how the tire handles temp changes. Lower temp tires will balloon/egg with low psi and high speeds. Higer temp tires fluctuate less.

traction

this is obvious

Ron right. When I first put the Toyo on the car, I went by the door frame sign 30psi. The handling was bad as was the ride. Bump the air pressure up to 45psi and what a big change.

Toyo's don't seem to be able to hold the wieght at the correct pressures, we had a GTO in the shop and with the correct pressure the side wall of the tire was on the road. I brought the car to the Toyo dealer next door (we have a love hate relationship) and he said that if it were him he'd install something else, and that he would not put them on GTO
s anymore. With that said, Chargers are heavier than GTO's so i'd guess the problems are on them also.

also, the customer that had the issue with the Toyo's, he also had a lot of alignment, instability problems, even at 45psi. The fix was to replace them with a set of Bridgestone RE050A PP's and it fixed everything, and the tires no longer sit on the side wall of the tires.

Rob, what model Toyo's were those? Do you know if they had an XL-rated sidewall? I've noticed that some of the tires I've been checking out lately, certain sizes have XL sidewalls, while others don't! I'll be checking for the sidewall rating more carefully from now on!

Bilstein make great shocks too. Proven on and off the track.

* Dale Earnhardt won 7 Winston Cup Championships on Bilsteins

* Rod Millen/Ivan Stewart won 11 manufacturer's Cup Challenge Titles on Bilsteins

* Ron Hornaday/Mike Skinner won the Craftsman Truck Championship on Bilsteins

* Brett Hearn won 28 times in Late Model Dirt Modified on Bilsteins

* Larry Schumacher won the Exxon GTS2 division in a Porsche on Bilsteins

* 1995 Corvette Indy Pace Car was equipped with Bilsteins

That's quite the resume!
