Hey guys I own a 2010 Charger SXT and I had a question about my tail lights lighting up whenever unlocking the car. When I first got my Charger the rear tail lights always lit up whenever I unlocked the car along with the headlights when I used the key fob, but a few months later the car stopped doing this and only the headlights light up. I was wondering why this was and if there is a way to activate and deactivate this just for reference. A friend of mines owns a Mercedes and she said her car used to do this until she got it serviced for the first time. Seeing as how the 2010's and past Chargers ('05 on up) were built on the E-class platform with Mercedes components under Daimler Chrysler is this a reason as to why the tail lights don't come on when unlocking the car? I can't remember whether or not the tail lights stopped turning on before or after I got my Charger serviced for the first time.

I'm in the same boat with my Challenger. I wonder if it has something to do with the tune and changing it.

It is in the User Manual on how to turn the flash on or off. Same thing happened to me and all I had to do was reprogram the ECU by pressing a button combo on the FOB.

Out of the 2008 Charger Owners manual:

Flash Lights with Remote Key Lock
This feature will cause the turn signal lights to flash when
the doors are locked or unlocked with the transmitter.
This feature can be turned on or turned off. To change the
current setting, proceed as follows:

² For vehicles equipped with the Electronic Vehicle
Information Center (EVIC), refer to “Flash Lights with
Remote Key Lock,” under 9Personal Settings (Customer
Programmable Features),” under “Electronic
Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)” in Section 4 of this
manual for details.

² For vehicles not equipped with the EVIC, perform the
following procedure:

1. Press and hold the UNLOCK button on a programmed
transmitter for at least 4 seconds, but no longer than 10
seconds. Then, press and hold the LOCK button while
still holding the UNLOCK button.

2. Release both buttons at the same time.

3. Test the feature while outside of the vehicle, by
pressing the LOCK/UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter
with the ignition switch in the LOCK position, and the
key removed

4. Repeat these steps if you want to return this feature to
its previous setting.

NOTE: Pressing the LOCK button on the transmitter
while you are in the vehicle will activate the Security
Alarm. Opening a door with the Security Alarm activated
will cause the alarm to sound. Press the UNLOCK button
to deactivate the Security Alarm.
