Unless you get a bargain on an engine and other parts, it seems like it would be a costly and complex modification to get 70hp.

+1

@OP: Yes you can put in a Hemi...

But it's too much work imo..
Which transmission do you have?
Dont forget other drivetrain components that need to be addressed as well...

My .02:
Leave it as is for now or go for another car with a Hemi.

I agree with the other two.

I had a '12 SXT too, so I'm not one of those guys who's anti V6. I think the V6 with the 8 spd transmission is quite fun to drive, and surprisingly economical.

However if you're desperate for that much more power, either add something like forced induction, or buy a different car. I think you'll likely have way more time/money into swapping the engine than it's worth. You could make more power for less money by going a different route.

A new intake isn't going to do much. I believe by forced induction he means super charger or turbo charger.
What's your goal? The pentastar is a ballsy 6 cylinder. Do you just want more power to have more power. Are you going to race it? Unless you just enjoy wrenching on a car, really your most economical option is probably to trade it in on a V8 Charger.
I owned hemi charger and a hemi Challenger. I enjoy my SXT just as much, if not more.

Yes, I meant supercharger, or turbocharger by forced induction.

Now if you like the V6, and just want a little more snap you can add some basic mods. Things like intake, exhaust, tune, etc will give it a little more punch.
If you want to get a little more involved than basic bolt on mods, you can try something like cams, rear gears, etc. This will be even more pep than the basic mods, without getting as involved or expensive as an engine swap.

A tune helps some. A lot of people like that you can tinker with it a bit. Even if you stick with the canned tunes, you'll get some more zest, especially when combined with intake and exhaust.
That said though, you're not going to get any outrageous gains from bolt on mods (this isn't exclusive to V6). They'll make mild improvements, but you don't really start getting the wow factor until you start getting a bit deeper into it. Of all the stuff I've done over the years (on both cars and trucks) the mod that made the biggest difference was a gear swap. Not the cheapest mod to do, but also not the most expensive either (I was able to do it myself so I saved the biggest expense, which was the labor).
I think intake, exhaust and tune are the building blocks for any modded car though. Maybe because they're affordable, maybe because most people can do it themselves, or maybe it really is needed. Either way, it's a good place to start. I just wouldn't expect to be blow away by the improvement.
