I have a 2007 R/T, 82000 miles. I recently got the engine compartment on my 2005 Grand Caravan cleaned and the engine looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. I was thinking of having it done on my Charger as well.

Has anyone had it done? Experience any problems?

Thanks for the feedback,

There are a few threads on here about cleaning the engine bay, but it's generally a no-no to actually steam clean an engine that has a lot of electrical components like ours do. Steam gets into the connectors and the moisture corrodes the connections. A better way is to use a garden hose. This way the water drops are larger and don't get into the connectors nearly as easily.

I like to use Simple Green to cut through any grease. With the engine cool, hose it down. Spray Simple Green, wipe gently if there's any stubborn spots. Rinse with the hose again. Repeat if necessary. Use a leaf blower or shop vac (with a clean filter!) to blow out standing water. Dry with a microfiber towel. For dressing, I use Stoner's Trim Shine.
