Anyone run against one these? I work with a guy that just bought one. I've had a lot of people asking when we were going to race. I keep telling them anytime. He's up for it. He had a Lancer (not an EVO) twin turboed before this. We played a bit this evening. Seemed pretty evenly matched at low speeds. But from a 60 roll I pulled easy.

Thoughts??

350Z and 370Z are a match up with R/T's (370 being faster offcourse) they are not close at all to the SRT's

I beat supercharged 350Z running around 9 pounds of boost by about 10 cars. He was talkin crap all night about beating SRT8's (you know, just loud enough for me to hear), So I finally told him to put up or shut up and go home. So from a 25 roll I smash him bad. Next from a stop, beat him just as bad. From a 50 roll, well it was even worse. He then came up with an excuse that his 5TH gear was bad. I didn know you would use 5TH for any of those speeds. LOL He then went home ashamed. All of this happened in front of the crowd that heard him talkin crap. I havent seen him on a Saturday night since. So in other words, you will KILL a 350Z.

Unless you are racing on a twisty road you should have the advantage.

Not worth the waste of gas unless you just want to humiliate him.

Nah the 350Z isn't really made to be a fast car. It was made to be a fairly pure sports car. On something like an autocross course it would absolutely destroy a SRT8. Of course an SRT8 is probably at its worst in an autocross.

Stock R/T to stock 350z is pretty much the same acceleration wise.

Stock SRT8 to stock 370z are both listed at 4.7sec for 0-60

I have beaten every single one.

The 350s are not even worth the gas they are so slow.

The 370s are much better and if driven competently will make you work. Down low they may even get the jump on you but over 80mph you will pull away

The SRT is much stronger over 100 than the 370

Unfortunately, our test car had not been broken in. Performance numbers—5.2 seconds to 60 mph and 13.7 through the quarter-mile—weren’t as good as we have seen in the standard 370Z, and they don’t convey the 5.4-percent horsepower gain. It has been our experience that the VQ engines perform better as they age: The first Z we tested, with 2000 miles on it, was slower across the board than the quickest, 4400-mile Z (4.8 to 60 and 13.4 in the quarter), which won a recent comparison test. After a proper break-in, the NISMO should match or better a regular Z. On a 200-foot skidpad, the NISMO just beat the stock Z by 0.01 g, at 0.99.

C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 5.2 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 12.5 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 25.6 sec
Street start, 5–60 mph: 5.8 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 13.7 sec @ 105 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 157 mph
Braking, 70–0 mph: 166 ft
Roadholding, 200-ft-dia skidpad: 0.99 g
Here is one that might beat a SRT8 stock to stock:

the all-new 2009 Nissan 370Z. Although we would never call an automatic and one of our favorite sports cars a match made in heaven, this one at least seems made somewhere north of purgatory. For starters, the shift paddles are affixed to the steering column, meaning hands always know where to find them. Pull the left for downshifts and the right for upshifts. The shifter can also be used to effect gearchanges.

Moving the shifter to the left from D to manual mode puts the car in a sporting mind-set, with the paddles calling forth sharp, lightning-quick shifts that helped this car set the quickest acceleration times we’ve yet recorded from the new Z: 0 to 60 in 4.6 seconds and the quarter-mile in 13.1 at 108 mph, quicker by 0.2 and 0.3 second and 1 mph than our quickest manual car. With both the automatic and the do-it-yourself transmission, the 370Z is EPA rated at 18 mpg city/26 mpg highway. We saw 18 with the auto, down 1 mpg from the manual 370Z.
