I'd keep the daytona. When all is said and done, the exterior look of the car is really all that matters. You can drop a 6.1 into a daytona easy enough, then you'll have the power of an SRT-8, but still retain the "everybody's looking" at the light aspect that I simply don't see a magnum providing.

Hopefully within a year I will be doing just that. Unless the 392s become mainstream production and drop in cost. Then not only will I smoke SRT-8s, but I'll look damn good while doing it!

Case in point: Power is easy to add, looks are another thing.
OMG, are you a RICER in disguise? Power AND suspension are in a whole 'nother league. Why didn't you get a V6 and save a ton of $$? You opened yourself up for this one! Whoo boy!

You think that engine swap is easy? Cheap too? :smoke:

OP, I would do a financial analysis and determine how many miles you'll be putting on it.

Of course votes will go for the superior product, but do what is fiscally smart and come back another day with a fire-breather.

I learned a while ago toys should be paid in cash and never finance a car more than 4 years, 5 yrs MAX.

if it is a choice of power just slightly mod the daytona and bam there is your 75 horsepower difference, as we know, that is most of the problem solved. Intake, exhaust, headers, maybe superchips that should do it and a TB will probably be worth more in the future
Welcome to the forums. Actually no, you need heads/cam to run in a straight line with the SRT-8 and the suspension/brakes are another matter.

Modded cars are usually worth less unless you find just the right buyer. Even then, you're lucky to get 1/4 of your investment in the sale of the car. If you sell your performance parts separately, 40-60% depending.

i'd keep the daytona... who wants to keep a station wagon when you can keep a piece of fine 4 door (with a trunk) muscle.
When you like to stop hard, turn fast and do track days. And bring your track rubber with you.
