SRT8 Magnum or Daytona Charger?

Due to financial reasons I have to get rid of one of babies. The Charger is an 06 TB Daytona with 32k all options including rear DVD but no Sirius. The Magnum is an 06 Black SRT8 with 13k and all options except rear DVD. The payments are the same, but I owe 2 years more on the Magnum. I love the looks of the Daytona and the power of the Magnum.

If it were me, Id keep the Maggie.

Theres now one (MSRT8) locally for the same price I grabbed my Charger at; with low miles. Im kicking my self all over the place.

Why not do a double trade for a Charger SRT8...then you get both of what you want...looks and power.

I have to have two cars, for the wife and me.

You want to get rid of one right?

Trade both of them for 1 Charger srt8...then you get the looks of the Charger you want...but the power of the SRT8.
Maybe this is a better way to put it...

Sell the daytona...trade the Maggie SRT8 for a Charger SRT8.

That still leaves me with only one car. I am in negative equity on both cars, so a double trade would kill me payment wise.

keep the street racer :p
That is a great idea in my opinion however I think the magnum is AWD and that is a plus if you live where it snows. The Charger SRT8 is not.
Or let the wife drive one of them and get rid of her ride.

SRT8's are 2wd only. I am getting an SUV to take care of the days when snow and ice are issues.
I guess I don't understand...

You are asking us which one to get rid of...and that leaves you with one also.
I'd keep the daytona. When all is said and done, the exterior look of the car is really all that matters. You can drop a 6.1 into a daytona easy enough, then you'll have the power of an SRT-8, but still retain the "everybody's looking" at the light aspect that I simply don't see a magnum providing.

Hopefully within a year I will be doing just that. Unless the 392s become mainstream production and drop in cost. Then not only will I smoke SRT-8s, but I'll look damn good while doing it!

Case in point: Power is easy to add, looks are another thing.

OMG, are you a RICER in disguise? Power AND suspension are in a whole 'nother league. Why didn't you get a V6 and save a ton of $$? You opened yourself up for this one! Whoo boy!

You think that engine swap is easy? Cheap too? :smoke:
if it is a choice of power just slightly mod the daytona and bam there is your 75 horsepower difference, as we know, that is most of the problem solved. Intake, exhaust, headers, maybe superchips that should do it and a TB will probably be worth more in the future
OP, I would do a financial analysis and determine how many miles you'll be putting on it.

Of course votes will go for the superior product, but do what is fiscally smart and come back another day with a fire-breather.

I learned a while ago toys should be paid in cash and never finance a car more than 4 years, 5 yrs MAX.

Welcome to the forums. Actually no, you need heads/cam to run in a straight line with the SRT-8 and the suspension/brakes are another matter.

Modded cars are usually worth less unless you find just the right buyer. Even then, you're lucky to get 1/4 of your investment in the sale of the car. If you sell your performance parts separately, 40-60% depending.
here's a plan (kinda devious) swap out the 6.1 into the daytona and put the 5.7 into the msrt8 and trade it in.
If you have kids I'd swap the DVD in the SRT8 and trade in the TB.
Clevelanders think alike. Swap engines, sell the magnum and call it a day. or you can get the wife a huffy and keep both cars!
