I,m curious about brake caliper options without spending an absolute fortune. Does any body know if SRT8 Calipers will fit on an R/T. Modded or stock? And Finally what about pads?

I went to my dealership to get my brakes fixed(turns out they needed to be replaced) and asked them if I could upgrade to the Srt8 Calipers..... They said not with out buying the entire package. supposedly the brakes work with the computer in the car and the Srt8 Calipers only work with the Srt brake kit... the R/T brake kit is different from the Srt and they aren't compatible. So according to my dealership the only way is to upgrade to the Brembo(srt8) brake kit. This sucks because I didn't fill like spending $2000 but I still had to pay $100ish just get mine fixed..... Have you thought of painting them red...

If you do a search about this topic, Im pretty sure you can easily find all of the answers you are looking for. However, in the event that someone does a search and comes across this thread, I dont want them to leave empty handed without finding an answer.... :D

In short, yes you can upgrade the brakes on an R/T to the SRT setup. That whole thing about computer business is a bunch of BS. However, its not as simple as just putting on SRT calipers and calling it a day. You need the rotors, calipers, pads, brake lines, and the knuckles/spindles from an SRT as well in order for the caliper to be able to mount up.

If you are seriously considering this upgrade, I would advise you to check out Cleveland Pick-A-Part. They are a vendor over on LXForums and they almost always can get a hold of a complete setup for you, or at least most of the parts you will need. Ive seen complete setups go for well under 2,000, but the parts are used, so its your call. Buying the parts brand new from the dealer is out of the question if you are on a budget..... Ive heard the bill can go in excess of 4 or 5 grand.

However, my recommendation for a brake upgrade is to look into TCE Performance Products. They used to be a vendor here, and are still a vendor over on LXForums. They carry the complete line up of Wilwood calipers and rotors and have fantastic prices to boot. Send Todd an email and he can talk you through their options, or just check out their website. Thats the way to go if you ask me.
