I have a 2015 Charger R/T with 55k miles on it. My brakes have started making a squeaking noise. There's a slight squeak as the tire turns at low speeds, and then there's a louder squeak when the brakes are pressed. This goes on for the first few minutes and then it goes away.
It seemed like the noise was coming from the front tires, so I ordered a new pair of Akebono Performance Ultra Premium Ceramic Pads. The old pads had more than half life left, but I figured I had them off so might as well go through with the swap. The rotors were still smooth & had no grooves in them, and I used up the whole tube of goo it came with behind the caliper.
What should be my next step? Front rotors? Back pads? More goo?
What would make it squeak only at the start?
