Some specific about my RT/RT

Hello people,

I have some specific questions concering my RT/RT...

I am not looking to race but I do want more hp and a better sound to my ride..that being said I also dont wish to break the bank either...

From my research on these forums the exhaust and air intake on the RT/RT's is performance upgraded. If so would it make sense for me to buy a new intake system?? Could I drop in a performace filter?? Also, if a new catback system wont increase hp by much (1-3horse) but I want a throaty sound wouldnt the blastin bobs replacement make sense??

(now I can afford magnaflow 15628's but if i can save 500$ wouldnt it be worth it?)

I do want to buy the predator programer when it goes on sale (is it selling yet?)

I guess I am asking if spending an extra grand on a few horses makes sense to you all? 200-400 on CAI and then 500-700 on cat back ( i know it doesnt add up exactly to a grand..i was ball parking it :LOL)

One more queston: At what times does 4 cylinder mode kick in?? Hwy driving or coasting around town??

Thank you all for reading....I appreciate your input..

The R/T, R/T intake tube is pretty open as it is. The best bet would be the headers first because the stock exhaust on the r/tr/t has a suitcase muffler that is pretty free(flow thru) The resonators do cause alittle back pressure. The mopar headers come with high flow cats that bolt right up to the stock exhaust. I have the mopar cai but some are going for the AFE. That would be the best bang for the buck. IMO>:) and the MDS usually come in around 50MPH> App.

ok, well im not sure too much about the r/t package but if your looking for cheap your best bet is to buy used or group buy items. the best bang for the buck that i would recomend (even though its not out yet) is the Diablo tuner. your looking at about 15 to 20 hp.call around and get on a group buy for that. as for the exhaust depending how loud you want it id say either buy a used one on the forum or cut the resonators off the back and add tips. the R&T has a more advanced suitcase. as for the intake id say for 250 bucks your not going to get more than 2 hp and some more noise.

its hard to tell when the mds kicks in on the car. the only reason i can tell is cuz i have and exhaust and i can tell the difference in tone.

hope this helps. dont worry more experienced people will chime in.lol. just wait.

An AFE Stage II CAI will run you less than $300.00, Diablo/Superchips will run you around $400.00 and a Blastin Bob's reso kit (no drone and nice growl at WOT) will run about $250.00.
what greg said, MDS kicks in any time you are using 20% or less throttle.
Exhaust and intake on an RT w/ R&T just gets you a better sound with minimal performance impact. That said, I have the aFe intake and Zoomers exhaust and I love them. Taking off the resonators will likely get you some undesirable drone so you might want to have a backup plan if you decide to try going that route.

I have the predator on order - by far this promises the best bang-for-the-buck performance-wise so far. They should start shipping in about 10 days so get in on the group buys soon since the prices are likely to jump after they start shipping. Several supporting vendors have special pre-order pricing in effect right now.

I thought it was less than 20% throttle in 5th gear.....
I have the R/T with R/T package. I love the air intake. I think it is well designed. Open it up and take out the filter and examine it for yourself. I also think the exhaust is great sounding and gets better with age. Crisp but not loud like a truck
