Also on that note tires are the single biggest upgrade you can make. They are often overlooked as mods as they are not flashy and they don't make noise or power. Adding a set of Nitto 555s to a Scat Pack will make it significantly faster than any other mod I can think of. I have the wider pirelli summer tires from the factory and have serious traction issues now. I couldn't imagine what a Scat is like on the skinny all season tires of the base model it must be a total nightmare to drive.

Tires won't make the car faster but they will make it quicker.

The 245 tires on the scat are not ideal but it probably a part of the equation that gave it good enough fuel economy to avoid a guzzler tax.

Maybe it's just me, but what's the appeal of a non-V8 Mustang with an automatic? Especially given the price difference between a brand new Ecoboost and base GT is only about $4k? Don't get me wrong - I love 4cyl turbos too (I've owned 3, including my current STI), but to me, a Mustang is synonymous with a V8 - not just for the power, but the sound. If I were shopping for a 4cyl turbo, I'd be looking at other platforms, i.e. STI's, Golf R, Civic Type-R, etc.

As for this particular car, unless the price reflects the additional depreciation due to the accident, I'd take the refund in full and run far away like everyone else has suggested. Even if the accident were purely cosmetic, and it may not matter to you, it's still going to be part of that car's record and will hurt resale value if you choose to sell it down the road. Also, the droning exhaust note of a 4cyl in a Mustang would drive me crazy.

Exactly. Someone gets it. I would never buy a Mustang, Charger, Challenger, or Camaro with anything but a V8

Take your time, I lurked Car Gurus & Auto Trader for months before finding my completly stock Cherry Garage Queen 67k mile R/T. Still smelled new. Previous owner was 75 years old.

Went to pick up my refund cheque yesterday, and noticed it was short $80 (some kind of documentation fee), even though the general manager had promised that he would give me a FULL refund.

Got enraged, and went into the GM's office and asked him about it and he told me "well our policy is that we don't refund that fee." ..... When I pressed him harder, and reminded him that he had literally given me his promise, he told me to get out of his office.

So I did the only thing I thought of.....There were about 80 people in the dealership total, from customers to salespeople and I yelled out at FULL VOLUME about how the manager is not honouring his word and I was lied to. I told everybody to not buy a car there. (Went on for a good 5minutes, I'm a very LOUD person LOL) ......They quickly escorted me out the building and threatened to call police.

After a bit, the GM came out to see me and told me he would fix the situation and give me my $80, but told me that I had to yell out again, saying that he was an honourable man and fixed my problem.....I told him I would only do that if I had the check in my hand.

So finally, they gave me a second $80 cheque and I reluctantly screamed some crap to kiss the GM's ass. Then as soon as I left the dealership, I left them a 1-star review on google maps.

Was funny because about 40% of all the customers left the dealership after my speech.

Edit: That being said I'm glad you got a FULL refund, dealerships are notorious for trying to steal a little something from every transaction. I've even gotten the impression that Canadian dealers are worse than those in the US at this.

Wasn't there a recall on the 2.3 for this? Especially on the RS.

Edit: I was thinking of the failing head gaskets on the Focus, that was the recall.
