I'm planning some cam work on my R/T in the coming weeks and the guy who will be doing the job will also be installing some headers for me. He suggested I go with some shorty headers, but I know absolutely nothing about them. I'm looking for some good combinations to really make the best out of my mods.

Right now it's bone stock, minus the "Brylcreem" mod. But by then it will have an LMI Hammer intake, 180 T-Stat, DiabloSport tune and FM Super 10's on the stock exhaust with no resonators at the rear.

Once done, it'll have an inertia cam done with new springs, timing set, pushrods and all the other little stuff along with the headers and mid-pipes running on an email tune.

Thanks for the help!

If you have the option go with properly sized long tubes. Shorties shift the torque peak of the car to the higher RPM ranges while long tubes enhance the low end. Unless you plan on adding forced induction or changing to s stroker, stay with 1 7/8" primaries and try to keep it below 3" at the collector (with 2.75 being optimal). Going too large on the primaries and collector will negatively effect scavenging and exhaust velocity. Since your cam will really help the motor breathe up top, go with the long tubes for a very balanced torque curve. If you do go this route, BBK makes a pretty nice setup with catted or non-catted mids that runs 2.75" piping. Prices are reasonable as well.

Good luck!
