I have a 2007 Dodge Charger R/T. I love my car, but I have been having an obnoxious problem with it. About a year ago the power lock button (the actual button itself) on the passenger side just popped off the door on its own. I had to have the car in the dealership to get a different repair at the time, so I had them fix it at the same time.

Now it has happened again, but on the drivers side. This is really annoying, but not covered by Dodge (obviously) because it is no longer under warranty. This time the button is nowhere to be found. It may have fallen on the pavement and is now lost.

So first I would like to know where I can get a new button. I have been thinking about just going to one of those pick and pull lots to see if I can get one. But I am not even sure how to remove it without breaking it in the process. I guess I could just take the whole power panel off the door and take that with me.

But I would also like to know if it is just the button that is the problem and if there is anyway to prevent this from happening again. Also, has anyone else had this problem?

I don't want to take it to the dealership again because they want to charge me $110 just to look at the damn thing and it couldn't be more than a $5 or $10 part.

You can change the place of power button under the steering wheel. This is the best point where you install power button, no one can see and use it with out your permission.
