I cannot stand the looks of the 2006 Magnum/Charger. To me it looks like Dodge rushed this out before thinking. A Magnum Sedan with Stratus backend  . The 1995 concept design is the real Charger in my opinion.

bkovacs, i do love the looks of the concept but hey; how many concepts have never made it to production. i have the charger R/T and love its looks grant it they could have done something better about the tail lights. now i also have the magnum R/T and love it also; one of the best cars i have ever owned. sssoooooo, if you put both cars side by side they look nothing alike (except the interior) matter of fact they dont share a single body panel.

so, i am sorry you dont like the vehicles. i lub 'em. das m' bebez!!!

The concept Charger looked more like the 71/74 charger . Especially the back end. And it's curves. Like the new Mustang looks similar to the old Mach One. Put all Dodge trucks and cars together and they all have similar looks, including the Magnum/Charger. Like Pontiac. No originality what so ever. At least the concept would have been a breath of fresh air. I read some where that it all came down to money. It was cheaper to design the Charger to look similar to all the other Dodges. Rather than design a new mold, for something better looking. Hate to see what a new Challenger would look like.

Also what Charger of the past had four doors? At least the concept also still retained the two doors. Compare photos. Dodge duped us!.

my thing is, if i wanted a car that looked like the old charger i would just buy and old charger. the people who bought the new mustang are just living a lie especially if they bought it because it looked like the old mustang. i never hear anybody talk about the 88',94',04 mustangs not looking like the old mustang because the new mustang is living off its past rep. ford is in trouble and needed away to suck people in to buy cars; chrysler didnt need to make a replica of and old great to sell vehicles; that is why we are all here.(or at least most of us)

Ok my mistake on the doors!. Another reason I think of the different design has to do with NASCAR!!!. I still cannot see anything similar to past Chargers and the new Magnum/Charger. Maybe if they would have just called it the new 2006 Dodge Intrepid I might like it. But it is definately not related to a Charger.

All American car makers are in trouble now, hence the employee discount. I go for looks, maybe why my favorite is the Ferrari Maranello. To me this looks more like a 1977 Chrysler Cordoba/Charger SE. Rather than the classic Muscle car we have all come to love.

i agree as anyone on this site will say that there are no simularities between the old and new charger. somebody correct me if i am wrong but i do not think any of us bought the new charger because of the name. i bought it for the looks of the car; they could of named it anything and it would still be sitting in my driveway. now as for the intrepid comment: so any car that has an ounce of simularities with another car they must be trying copy that car, right. well alot of the old muscle cars had aloooot of simularities with others inside their own brand along with other brands. so does that mean that the charger of old, which looked alot like the coronet, should not be called a charger but a coronet look-alike.

You're right rogelio, they can be fun to toy with  But often I find they don't understand the sarcasm, or realize they're hurting their image, and they just get encouraged...it's sad

The concept car was exactly that a concept built as a market research tool. So obviously the research showed this car was not a viable option. I think that the demographic that showed the most interest could not afford the price required for profit. And the fact that the automotive industry is giving employee pricing on everything except the LX cars shows how right they where.
Some may call DCX stupid for not building the car like they would have. But it is the LX cars keeping DCX in business right now.
I think it would have been stupid to build a 2-door car to compete for market share in a class that can barley support 2 cars now. Just think of how much cost would be involved in a new production line to support one low volume car. DCX does not have the manufacturing capacity of Ford or GM.

Stay of this site if you don't like it.
I have a black Rt with 22 inch black center with machined lip rims.
Lowered and 5 percent limo tint all the way around.
Let me tell you Cowboy I get more thumbs up and people just in a state of shock
when they see the car. It by far is the baddest looking vehicle on the road PERIOD.
I HAD A 300C SILVER WITH 22'z AND LOWERED LET ME TELL YOU MY CHARGER IS
KILLIN THE 300 I HAD 1000 TIMES OVER.

SO BEFORE YOU GO BASHING THE NEW CHARGER THINK AGAIN BECAUSE THIS CAR
IS JUST PLAIN AWESOME , KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN FOR MY PICS AND YOU MIGHT
THINK ABOUT TAKING BACK WHAT YOU SAID.

SURE THE CONCEPT PHOTOS LOOK GOOD BUT YOU HAVE TO THINK REALISTIC BRO.
ALL CARS THAT ARE BROUGHT TO PRODUCTION THAT ARE CONSIDERED COOL NEVER
EVER EVER LOOK LIKE THE PROTOTYPE. THIS CAR IS FOR ALL TYPES OF PEOPLE AND THEN YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE IT TO YOUR LIKING, DO YOU FOLLOW ME.

THE CAR IS MORE HEAD TURNING THAT A FREAKIN BENTLEY, ROLLS ROYCE AND
FERRARI ALL PUT TOGETHER.

I KNOW BECAUSE I DRIVE ONE AND CAN SEE AND HEAR PEOPLES REACTIONS, IT'S JUST CRAZY AND IT FEELS GOOD TOO.
