Question about odd behavior with acceleration

If this is answered in another thread, I apologize, as I currently do not understand my problem well enough for a concise set of search terms.

2014 - Charger R/T

My problem is, when I'm on the highway, or 4-lane, and I start goosing the acceleration pedal to pass, and have to immediately let off, the car acts like i've slammed on the brakes. The nose almost completely dives down, the transmission never hits a passing gear and the engine immediately seems to perform an engine brake. My '06 didn't do this, and I'm wondering if this is a "feature" in the '14's?
