Your car doesn't have a "full off" selection for the ESC, only partially off. Even with the ESC light on and Mr. Squiggles light on, it's not fully disabled.

You can turn it fully off with a key trick, using a tuner or by installing a switch to disable it.

Does the key trick only work for certain models or years? I have a 2009 R/T and the key trick does nothing for me. I've tried it a few times, in park, in drive, sitting still, moving, turn quickly, hold for 5-10 seconds. Nothing. Mr. Squiggles never lights up, BAS never lights up.

The vehicle needs to be in drive and moving at a somewhat decent rate of speed for it to work. I want to say it needs to be above 10 or 15mph. While you're driving, turn the key all the way to the crank position and hold it there until you hear a chime come from the speakers. It should work just fine on your 2009, as we used to do this to my best friend's 2010 Chrysler 300 all the time.

My 07 will work at speeds as low as 1-2 mph. Any registered wheel speed by the abs module will set the lights off. 06's i didnt think worked with the key. Those had a fuse you pulled.

I must not have been going fast enough when I tried it moving before. I've tried it successfully a couple times now ensuring I was going over 20. WooHoo!
