when i bought my 2008 Charger SRT8 it already had the Airaid CAI kit installed. And I've only had K&N filters in the past. Is the Airaid a DRY filter? or do you need to oil it like the K&N?

Thanks

Sell it and get a real one !
AFE stage 1 or 2 or a Legmaker if you want air flow for power.
if you want it for looks then keep the one you have .
As you get into making these cars better you will find out was for show and whats for go.

The Airaid system uses an oiled filter and requires oiling after cleaning. You can check their website for the cleaner solution and oil.

Contacted Airaid and got this response:

Look at the end cap of the filter.

If it says “AIRAID” it is an oiled filter.

If it says “AIRAID” and “SynthaMax Do Not Oil” then it is a dry filter.

Good to know they made it easy lol.

If yours is super dirty even after cleaning I'd just go for a new one. I cleaned and oiled my original one after a few years of having not cleaned it and it was almost still black (even using the oil spray that was red in color).
