Why shouldn't this be covered by the warranty? It's not normal service...

why do they want to do this? Were you having problems?

Its more involved than just draining and filling. you have to get all the air out of the system.

20~40 lock-to-lock manuvers with wheels off the ground, engine off (check service manual).

I noticed my steering has been a little stiff during the cold weather. I haven't noticed it before and this is my third winter in the Charger. I was thinking that I may need a flush also. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Sounds like total stealership BS.
Get some details before you take out another mortgage for the dealer services.

Why do you need a flush ASAP?
What caused the supposed problem to need a flush ASAP?
Will it happen again?

Same for the 27,000 mile tranny flush. Complete crap unless your Charger is a 24/7 taxicab.

Steering and trans shift in the cold can be tight/stiff until fluid and everything else warms up. Perfectly normal.

For me, the concern is that I hadn't noticed this in winters past. It seems to have just started, therefore meaning the steering fluid may be breaking down and not as stable as it was.

I agree that the stealership is probably trying to garner some new business, which is sad that they feel the need to do this. Waht is even more sad is the fact that we have absolutely no trust in the service departments of our local stealerships.

Been noticing the same thing myself. I chalked it up to the fact that the last two winters, I had it in Las Vegas, while this year it is in Salt frozen Lake hell Utah.

At least a reach-around... :biggrinjester:

Owners manual says 60,000 mi for a tranny flush under Schedule B (more severe) service; I can find no service interval for the PS fluid.

stick to the owner's manual service. The stealership can invent any service schedule they want. they keep trying to push the "BG induction service on me".
